Overview & Reviews
The 2004 Ford Escape remains largely unchanged although the price has been lowered on the plush Limited model and certain appearance packages are now available on lower trim levels which, in effect, reduce the final price. Also, Chrome Yellow is no longer a color choice. To eliminate confusion, trim levels and option packages have been consolidated.
- Powerful V6, large cargo capacity, comfortable interior, carlike handling.
- Weak standard four-cylinder engine, bland interior design, small gas tank size limits range.

Happy in my Escape! - 2004 Ford Escape
By klpgolf17 - January 21 - 2:00 amFor a 20 year old first time car, I love this vehicle. It is a lot more than I could have asked for. Was considering a Jeep Liberty but greatful I walked upon this car!

Love It! - 2004 Ford Escape
By Fatal434 - January 21 - 2:00 amAlthough I just recently purchased my vehicle a few weeks ago. I am very, very, very pleased with it. I previously drove a 2000 Plymouth Breeze and the Escape gets the same amount of gas!!! The only thing that I miss from my old car is the fact that the doors automatically lock. Every other thing about this car I love. Dont think twice about purchasing one however do your best to try to negotiate on a final vehicle price.

Escape from the Durango - 2004 Ford Escape
By Flukezilla - January 21 - 2:00 amI just purchased my 2004 Ford Escape Limited and love it!!! I bought it on 12/05, the day of the Snow Storm in the northeast. It took us 4 hours to drive 45 miles but I felt confident in the handling and performance. We were looking at the Dodge Durango and could not get over how much fuel it burns. GAS HOG!!! We felt $200 a month in gas might be a bad idea. I am not 100% trilled about the gas mileage of any SUV but I feel as if this is the best of the size. I was also pleased with the overall quality of the vehicle. As far as price, the Escape Limited was a full $8000 less than a fully loaded 2004 Durango. I highly recommend this SUV.

Escape - 2004 Ford Escape
By xtremspike - January 15 - 2:00 amWell built vehicle. I purchased for my wife, had to get it loaded with options. Its the XLT has the 6 disc stereo, leather , moonroof, tow package and power everything. What more could you ask for, this SUV is not comparable to anything on the road. It has one of a kind looks and runs like a sportscar....200+ hp. Tires are gonna be expensive as they are 16s but after 1 yr of driving they are holding up well.

Would Purchase Again! - 2004 Ford Escape
By akireeap - January 10 - 10:00 amI looked at other smaller SUVs and this was the only one in the same price range that had a lot to offer, without feeling like the inside was a "fischer price" inside. I test drove a bunch, and the Escape road smoother, less bumpy, very comfortable, and sturdy. It also doesnt feel so "top heavy"

My ideas - 2004 Ford Escape
By George J Gleissner - December 15 - 10:00 amThis vehicle is fun to drive and does anything you ask it to do. We have been in the mountains and the desert of the west with it and it has really been a good vehicle.
