Overview & Reviews
The 2004 Ford Escape remains largely unchanged although the price has been lowered on the plush Limited model and certain appearance packages are now available on lower trim levels which, in effect, reduce the final price. Also, Chrome Yellow is no longer a color choice. To eliminate confusion, trim levels and option packages have been consolidated.
- Powerful V6, large cargo capacity, comfortable interior, carlike handling.
- Weak standard four-cylinder engine, bland interior design, small gas tank size limits range.

Alot of SUV for the Money - 2004 Ford Escape
By AJFalbo - December 17 - 2:00 amThis is a mighty-mite SUV. There is a lot of vehicle for the money. Handles well (even at higher speed - no roll), great pick up, a lot of feature and extras. I was surpriced at the engines agressiveness and pick up. The interior design gives you that truck "height feel" yet you dont feel that you have to climb a mountain to get in it. The tailgate is great, window goes up and if needed the whole gate lifts up, a feature that I wish I had had on my 98 Chevy Blazer.

Love my Escape - 2004 Ford Escape
By Kathleen - November 4 - 2:00 amI love my Ford Escape. I bought it 6 months ago. I am a Home Health Nurse and enjoy driving my SUV. Its comfort and realiability cant be beat. I have a 22 month old grandson and feel he is safe in the back seat with the lockdowns. I have plenty room for my nursing supplies in the back. It is the perfect vehicle for me

Great Truck - 2004 Ford Escape
By nicbpapa - November 4 - 2:00 amThe drive is wonderful. It has plenty of power to get you in and out of tight spot for highway driving, The feel in the steering is terrific, as it truly does ride more like a car than most other SUVs. There is plenty of interior room for most anything you need to do. The suspension is outstanding. It gives you great value for your money.

96K and still hangin tough - 2004 Ford Escape
By Quinal - November 4 - 2:00 amI really like my Escape. Everything is fine with it.. I only have a couple of complaints. The road noise is a bit much at times and the seats are a hard. Other than that, everything is great. VERY Peppy, great value for the money. Drives like a car, not like a truck. I owned a Grand Prix GT before my Escape and Id race that GT with my escape anyday. Even with 96K miles.

love my escape, - 2004 Ford Escape
By soccer mom - November 4 - 2:00 amIm 410" and wanted an SUV, but didnt want to climb a mountain to get in and out. I love my escape. Lots of power with the 6 cylinder, great highway milage. With the 16" tires, it looks more rugged than the average compact SUV. I am a very happy Soccer Mom.

This Escape loves the feel of the road! - 2004 Ford Escape
By CwbyNChgo - October 24 - 10:00 amI had an Explorer before I traded it in for this Escape. I looked at all the smaller SUVs.... This one handled better than all the others and after putting over a 1,000 miles on it in a month, Im glad I bought it. It truly is a pleasure to drive and handles like a charm. I got the price I wanted for my trade- in AND for my new Escape. Just do your homework on the vehicle, then stick to your guns.

By nans - September 22 - 2:00 amI traded in an Expedition for my Escape. It drives like a sports car. Very responsive. Great turning radius and tight streering. Solid center of balance. Great car.
