Fantastic Value Ford Escape for 2003 - 2003 Ford Escape
By hammysdad - July 21 - 2:00 amThere is only two Ford Escape for 2003 that I find other vehicles in the same class beat our vehicle with: 1. rear cargo shade that insert like a toilet paper roll is cheaply made and does not have a handle like many others to pull toward you to cover your cargo 2. the storage in the rear cargo is not as nicely appointed as others. Other than that nothing touches it for style, quality, and value.

Best of its kind - 2003 Ford Escape
By Richi - June 21 - 10:00 amGets you anywhere.Im not talking about offroad competition driving. Who wants all those overrated lower gear ratio downhill automatic power drive, and God knows what other names are around. The Escape is more than satisfactory for any kind of road situation.

The unreliable Ford - 2003 Ford Escape
By Rob - June 9 - 4:57 pmAs soon as my warrenty expired my ford fell apart. First it was a 3300 $transmission, then 1500$ rebuilding the front end, then the wheel cencers for 1000$, then the driveshaft bearing 500$, and now ford says it needs a new transfer gear box for 5000$! This car is unreliable, and constanly breaks down. i could have got a better car with the money I have spent fixing this one.

Escape from the compact SUVs - 2003 Ford Escape
By topdeadcenter - May 24 - 10:00 amwell thought out interior, plenty of non-towing power, and automatic 4x4 are all pluses on this vehicle. Drawbacks include, cheap looking plastic bumpers and exterior trim, lack of towing power, (had problems with a 1500 lb boat coming out of lauch) and a minor electronic problem that put ours out of commision for a day. All in all a step above the competition, (we drove most and found this to be the best) I would recomend.

Hard to beat this package - 2003 Ford Escape
By indiatree - April 17 - 10:00 amThe new Limited is fantastic. Plastic black bumpers and trim have been replaced on the Limited with all metal, painted, unicolor bumpers/trim which VASTLY improve the look of the vehicle. Build quality, grade of two-tone leather seats, and grade of materials is MUCH improved from previous years. (My brother has a 2000 XLT). Drive is easy and fun. Good acceleration. Road and wind noise have been reduced noticably from prior years. Comes standard with all available options: heated premium leather seats, premium sound system, sunroof (in CA), towing package, reverse sensing system, power front seat, auto head lamps, + others.

Escape Fits Our Needs - 2003 Ford Escape
By John E. Baker - April 11 - 10:00 amWe looked at a number of "mini-SUVs." The Ford Escape fit our needs best. Its the right size (not too big and not too small), were confident that it will be safe and reliable, and its fun to drive.

hard seats - 2003 Ford Escape
By tommy boy - March 22 - 10:00 amI almost bought the Escape, but two things stopped me. 1. The front seats were as hard as a rock. VERY uncomfortable, like sitting on a wooden bench. Too bad, I really liked the way it drove and handled, it is also very sharp looking. Ford needs to redesign the front seating. 2. Great deals on Explorers right now, I am getting an Explorer (full size) for less than the Escape or Explorer Sport (which I drive now). Tommy Boy
