The 2004 Ford Escape remains largely unchanged although the price has been lowered on the plush Limited model and certain appearance packages are now available on lower trim levels which, in effect, reduce the final price. Also, Chrome Yellow is no longer a color choice. To eliminate confusion, trim levels and option packages have been consolidated.
- Powerful V6, large cargo capacity, comfortable interior, carlike handling.
- Weak standard four-cylinder engine, bland interior design, small gas tank size limits range.

Happy with our 2004 Ford Escape - 2004 Ford Escape

We purchased it basically after checking Consumers Guide, Edmunds, etc. So far, we are very happy with everything about this vehicle. We are getting about 25 mpg. on long distance driving. Ford always knows how to please the consumer.

Very solid SUV - 2004 Ford Escape
By Dave2121 - June 23 - 2:00 amBought this vehicle not knowing they were redesigning a couple months later but and pleased my with 04 Escape. Looked at the new ones but not much of a difference. Actually, the 04 has a better gas mileage rating on by 1 but with gas prices, that is important. Very solid, fun to drive, fast pickup, and with the Limited very comfortable. Great Leather seats.
