The 2004 Ford Escape remains largely unchanged although the price has been lowered on the plush Limited model and certain appearance packages are now available on lower trim levels which, in effect, reduce the final price. Also, Chrome Yellow is no longer a color choice. To eliminate confusion, trim levels and option packages have been consolidated.

• Powerful V6, large cargo capacity, comfortable interior, carlike handling.

• Weak standard four-cylinder engine, bland interior design, small gas tank size limits range.

  Fantastic SUV - 2004 Ford Escape

  This is a great SUV. Had rented one last year in 2003 for vacation. It really was comfortable to ride in, drive and all around vehicle. Found the one we bought at Enterprise Car Sales just had to buy it. Not too good on gas mileage but that is the only disappointment I have. Would buy another one if needed too.

  This vehicle handles well and rides great. I have owed several ford vehicles and this one is one I would purchase again. It also gets great gas mileage in town and as well as highway.

  have researched and test driven most suv in this class. started out looking at the explorer decided it was too much for me, took the escape for a test drive and fell in love.

  I love the Escape. Its not to big and just the right size to carry stuff and get in and out of parking spots. My husband has the F150 4x4 four door, way to big for me. I cant judge the size of the F150, but have no problems with my Escape.

  I bought my escape as soon as the 2005 models came out and I got it fully loaded ....I love it...Im a small woman with a big dog and a son and a husband, it accomodates me perfectly. I had a small convertable before and my son could never see anything from the backseat because it sat so low. Now he sees and comments on everything(hes six). Ill always buy Ford!

  A joy to drive. Comfortable ride with very good handling. Mileage outstanding on road trip from Portland to Reno. The wife drives the Escape the most, she is in love with it! Im disabled and this vehicle is perfect for me to get in and out of. I found it preferable to my pals Honda CRV!!!

  We previously had a 1994 Ford Explorer and decided to try the smaller version, so we got an Escape this time. The gas mileage is so much better. We really love our Escape!!!!

  This is a great vehicle. Perfect for small families that need reliable transportation. It is very comfortable and spacious, with lots of cargo room. But its also very fun to drive, and surprisingly powerful.

  FUN TO DRIVE. HAD A CHEVY TAHOE 1997 WHAT A NIGHTMARE REAR END FAILED 3 TIMES THE LIST GOES ON AND ON WITH THAT TRUCK.ANYWAY THE ESCAPE IS SUCH A GOOD SUV I CANT FIND ANY THING WRONG WITH IT.CANT WAIT TO HOP IN IT TOMORROW AND GO SOMEWERE IN IT RON

  Great running, fun to drive. Plenty of room for cargo. Mileage is good as I beat it up and down the highway at 80 with the air on and get 23-24 miles per gallon. If stayed of the pedal Im sure I could get better. Great American car! I would highly recommend.
