Average at best - 1990 Dodge Shadow
By pylon_johnson - December 18 - 3:28 pmI received what I thought was a cream puff...in 2003, I was given my grandmothers 1990 Dodge Shadow with only 27,000 miles on it to use as a second vehicle. Overall, it was pretty average and dull, though I will say it did get around very well in the snow. I had owned a 1991 Escort a few years ealier, and to compare the Shadow to the Escort, which were competing vehicles, the Escort blew it away. On the surface, the Shadow seemed better, with more horsepower, larger wheels, and more options, but where the Escort was peppy and fun to drive and great on gas, the Shadow was like driving a lawn mower, and was not very good on gas for a 4-cylinder with 93 hp.

Fun to drive, wish it was more reliable - 1992 Dodge Shadow
By kickspro - January 21 - 1:20 pmGot the car in May of 09, loved it. Drove good for about a week then the engines belt started squeeking, very annoying. Got a new belt and it was gone, car is very underpowered with a 2.2 4 cylinder in it. Car got good gas millage at the start of my purchase and got worse as days went on. The tranny leaked alot of tran fluid and had to refill it every few months. Car overall was very stock and basic but was a enjoyable ride. Didnt want to risk the engine and tranny going so I sold the beast.

Good life - 1993 Dodge Shadow
By bzieba - April 10 - 12:10 pmThis was the first of three we bought, and the last to go. Its on its last leg, but its been a good car. For a 13 year old car and 155m plus miles later can`t complain too much. Its on its second tranny, the cooling system gave us a bit of trouble, the hardware is falling apart, the body is fair, minimal rust, paint held up very well, three accidents and still drives straight as an arrow. Mileage is fair, overall performance is down, but, I think these cars were made to "drive till they drop". Don`t see many of these on the road anymore. Nice while it lasted, but, time for the recycle yard.

Dodge shadow 3.0 ES 2DR - 1992 Dodge Shadow
By Mopar41 - July 7 - 2:00 amThis car is one of the fastest stock dodge cars ever made. Its a great car to drive. With the 5spd, the car has much better acceleration than the auto.My car just happens to have a cold air intake and the turbos 5spd tranny. It makes better 1/4 mile times but top speed is somewhat slower. Who needs to go fast on the city streets anyway?...ME! With the nitro, the car has 223hp. making the 1/4 mile in 13.8 sec!!! Ive cut the car down 2.5in, in the front and 2.0in in the rear. I only did this to improove handling in high spd cornering. It has virtually no body roll at all. HAVE FUN!!!

Wrok horse - 1991 Dodge Shadow
By unclmick - June 24 - 2:00 amLike most dodges, the engine was great, but the body was crap. It started to fall apart as soon as I got it. Clear coat coming off, liners coming down. BUT, the engine ran and ran. It saved us so much money to drive it into the ground. Hard city driving and long family visit roadtrips. Overall I definitely got my money out of it.

Turd Mobile - 1994 Dodge Shadow
By SteveTheBluesman - December 25 - 2:00 amI own this car via marriage...my wifes car, I maintain it and deal with its probelms, which have been few. The car does burn oil, creaks like an old man, is slow as molassas running uphill in January, has horrid build quality but at 71000 miles, the car starts every day.

Nice V6 torque - 1993 Dodge Shadow
By Revman - April 17 - 2:00 amI bought this car new in 1993 and it cost around $11,500. Tell me where you can get a new car today for that kind of money that has 170 lb. ft. of torque availible as soon as you put your foot on the gas. It handled pretty well also. The hatch back great, even though it doesnt look like a hatch, and the rear seats folded down. The brakes could be a lot better to match the engines performance. When things did go wrong, they were minor and inexpensive. After 8 years of owning it I bought a new car, but I would do it over again if I could.
