This car is lots of fun to drive. The manufacturers sound system, seats and interior is excellent. However, when compared to my previous car, which contained a 3800 v6, the performance is lacking. The reliability has been fantastic. I commute 100 miles to work each day (all highway miles) and the ride is as smooth as silk. The car has 17" whhels and handles like a dream on turns, and in curves. The suspension provides a nice combination of ride and handling. I receive compliments on the car wherever I go. Many dont realize its a Chrysler (or American car)

Oil is changed every 3000 miles, transmission oil changed as required, tires rotated and all papers saved in a folder (in the glove compartment) and all inf. entered in the book that came with the car. Each time I get new wipers etc. all inf. saved. Thank you for the report I will be receiving. Sincerely Carol

  • Nice car, but... - 1999 Chrysler Sebring

Purchased new by my wife who liked the look of the car. Rides well, fun to drive. Tilt wheel doesnt tilt enough for average size man. Front bumper way too low. Would not buy this model of this year again for those two reasons.

First Car, very Bad Expierence. Fuel Pump went bad at about 1,200 miles. Brakes have been a nagging problem from 7,500 to present. Engine sensor went bad at 8,500 Miles. Fuel Sensor went bad at 21,500 which shut the engine down when the brakes were apllied. Now have an ugly black tar leaking out from under the doors due to the heat. Should have spent 2,000 extra and went with toyota or nissian. I learned from this mistake but at a cost.

We have owned this car for 4 years now and have had excellent service with one exception. Chrysler seems to have a problem with a computer chip that governs the transmission and it is fairly expensive to replace over $500 and was replaced once under warranty and once outside that i was able to negotiate lower. We also owned a 300M that had the same problem. Other than that glitch, we were quite pleased with the car.

  • It shines, but so far from being gold... - 1999 Chrysler Sebring

The ONLY good thing about this car is the looks. Now, here is the rest of the package: quick wear of tires, problem with transmission, electrical problems, for v6 it is not powerful at all, the doors are way too heavy for comfortable use, seats are hard, no usable cup holders (?), annoying engine noise while increasing the spead, the sunroof is loose, the back is too high, cant hide the radio antenna, you have to go abnormally slow at slightly hilly places to not hit hills with your cars belly or nose...

I have owned a number of vehicles, but nothing has surpassed by 99 jxi convertible. The interior design is ingenius along with the attractive exterior. extremely reliable, was never in the shop. could not have asked for a better automobile.

This is a great car. The only problem I have found is the 17" aluminum wheels. They are not strong enough and, according to two tire and wheel companies who have replaced them for me, it is the #1 replaced wheel in the nation. They are very fragile, and Ive had to replace 9 of them in 2 years. They are $350 apiece!

  • nice car but not a sport car - 1999 Chrysler Sebring

Very nice car, but it is not a sport car, the mileage surprisingly economical. and 4 can seat in with no troubles. I have driven the car over 30,000 miles with only one problem: an electrical sensor part of the transmission. otherwise it has been very dependable, this car is all about open/fresh air with comfort

  • What FUN!!! - 1999 Chrysler Sebring

Ive had this car for the past year and a half. It is far and away the most fun car Ive ever owned! The reliability has been unsurpassed for me and all systems have been go from day one. Long trips for me are somewhat wearing in this car (the seats are too short for my legs for this), but the top down MORE than makes up for that!! I bought the Limited edition and the two tone seats, the dash, the sound system, the Autostick and the extra touches have made it worth the extra few dollars. For my money, GET THIS CAR!!
