Overview & Reviews
Half-ton models now feature standard Hydroboost brakes, a tire-pressure monitoring system and newly styled 16- and 17-inch aluminum wheels. Two-wheel-drive models with traction control now feature a locking rear differential, and the trailering package includes a 7-to-4 pin brake wiring adapter. For added safety, there is now a front passenger seatbelt reminder. Lastly, Chevrolet has lowered the output figures for the Vortec 8100 -- the engine is now rated at 320 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque.
- Choice of powerful V8 engines, Quadrasteer four-wheel steering system, cavernous cargo space, room for nine.
- Massive size can be tough in tight confines, vague steering feel, cheap interior plastics.

Oil consumption problems, resolve early! - 2004 Chevrolet Suburban
By rich - January 7 - 11:32 pmI have a 2004 Suburban which suffered from an oil consumption problem. The dealer tossed it off as standard operation/consumption. The motor failed completely at 38,000 miles. Luckily I had it fully documented and they were forced to replace the entire engine due to cylinder wall scoring. My recommendation is to hold your ground on any problem, as they will try to hold you off until the warranty has expired. It is one of the most disappointing experiences I have had. It astounded me as to how brazen they could be.

The kids love it, my wife and I love it! And you will not feel safer. We cannot wait to order our 2007! For big families...this is the vehicle!

Driving Comfort - 2004 Chevrolet Suburban
By Dan - December 4 - 4:47 amI bought this truck becuase I needed room and comfort while working across the U.S. I had owned several trucks and cars in the past few years for work, but I kept coming back to the ride and comfor of a Suburban. Once I got it, I will be hard pressed in the future to get rid of it. I intend to keep it until either it or I fall apart.

The Ultimate Family Transport - 2004 Chevrolet Suburban
By Ron - June 23 - 4:53 pmI was never a proponent of the "BIG SUV", but needed the room and comfort for our family of 5 making monthly trips between Long Island and Boston. Excellent handling, great drivability, roomy, comfortable, quiet, real 3rd row seating, excellent cargo capacity, did I mention roomy? And surprisingly easy to park. It doesnt get much better than this for family transportation. GM has a real winner in the Suburban - keep it up!

By blazer0981 - May 20 - 10:00 amI love my Chevy Suburban. It gets me where I need to go. Not as fast as my 1991 GMC Syclone, though.
