Overview & Reviews
Half-ton models now feature standard Hydroboost brakes, a tire-pressure monitoring system and newly styled 16- and 17-inch aluminum wheels. Two-wheel-drive models with traction control now feature a locking rear differential, and the trailering package includes a 7-to-4 pin brake wiring adapter. For added safety, there is now a front passenger seatbelt reminder. Lastly, Chevrolet has lowered the output figures for the Vortec 8100 -- the engine is now rated at 320 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque.
- Choice of powerful V8 engines, Quadrasteer four-wheel steering system, cavernous cargo space, room for nine.
- Massive size can be tough in tight confines, vague steering feel, cheap interior plastics.

Big beauty - 2004 Chevrolet Suburban
By Burbia - March 17 - 2:00 amFirst real truck Ive owned. No comparison to my Ford Windstar. Good power, very comfortable, and not bad on gas considering size of truck and engine. Rides smoother than a Lincoln. NICE RIDE

Z71 Suburban - 2004 Chevrolet Suburban
By Carek - March 9 - 2:00 amNumerous mechanical problems that should not be present in a vehicle of this price or age. Not the first Chevrolet but maybe the last I own. Dealer support for these problems not very good at all.

8.1Liters of Power and Fun - 2004 Chevrolet Suburban
By EJ - March 8 - 2:00 amStill in the first 500 miles of ownership. Got the 8.1 liter engine ... not too many out there to be had ... cant have enough power/torque for towing. Overall, this SUV is an excellent ride - smooth, comfortable, user friendly and quiet. Really love it. LT package is an excellent value option.

First Suburban - 2004 Chevrolet Suburban
By Dan in South Dakota - March 7 - 2:00 amRecently purchased first Suburban after looking at many different SUVs. It is simply the most vehicle for the money and can be purchased for a reasonable cost if you keep the options list short. It comes with a lot of standard features.

Great Truck - 2004 Chevrolet Suburban
By George T. - January 27 - 2:00 amIve owned my 2003 Suburban 4WD Z71 for nine months and have put about 9000 miles on it. I have had zero problems with it and have had it back to the dealer for oil changes only. Its very comfortable, easy to handle for such a large vehicle, and solidly built. If you need lots of space, as I do with 6 dogs, I would highly recommend the Suburban.
