Bought brand new for 20000 grand. Had front brake rotors and pads replaced 3 times in the first 20000 miles, hole in battery, a/c compressor failed, rear seat belts had to be replaced, tape player quit, fuel injector failed, repeated engine light problems. I bought this car for peace of mind and reliability because my wife would be driving it with our children most of the time. My father woked for Chevy for 20 plus years and I thought I was a very loyal customer, But I am very disapponted!!!!!!! THE IMPORTS ARE KICKING OUR BUTTS!!!!!!!!!

This car was just ok. Purchased at 63,000 miles. Heater and air conditioner went out within first year of owning it. Tires went bald fast, needed to fill with oil every two weeks after it hit 70,000 miles. No "get up and go". Forget about good gas mileage. Needed new transmission as soon as I hit 101,000. Automatic windows work only when they want to. Back window motor went out. I put almost half as much in to this car as I paid for it. Dont count on this car lasting over 100,000 miles. Save your money. Buy a Honda or a Toyota.

I have had my Malibu for about 6 years now. I purchased it used basically good as new as it had only been driven for one year prior. It drives nice, is quite reliable and the factory speakers sound good. Although I have had to replace the brakes three times in the past two years. Other reviews mention the AC a lot, I have noticed my AC turning on and off on one occasion, and it has not acted up since. I wrecked the Malibu about a month ago going 45 mph, without a seatbelt on. I slammed on the brakes and the car skidded about 10 feet into the back of the car in front of me. Not sure what speed I was at when I hit the car, but airbags werent deployed.

I love my Malibu. It has leather seats and a spoiler. It is really sporty and I can afford it. I love the comfort and it rides like a Cadillac.

I love my Malibu. I have fun driving it and have had no problems other than normal wear and tear with this car. Everything on the car works, the sound system (stock) is very good. This is only the second used vehicle I have purchased that I have been extremely satisfied with.

No probs except a loose nut in the drivers side door (warranty). As soon as I hit 37,000 miles, the O2 sensor went out ($250). Since then Ive gone through 3 gas caps. The rotors and brakes were replaced at 40K, followed soon by the tires. Check engine light became a daily feature. In 2003, manifold and intake gasket went bad along with ignition coils - that was a grand. Right wheel hub bearing and A/C problem resulted in $700 bill in early 2004. Temp control switch then stopped working on 1&2. Diagnosed with weak air flow sensor. Coolant began leaking again. Alternator died ($295 with tow). Radiator hoses and coolant ($75) replaced after leak progressed. Cannot wait to trade in.

Bought with 0 miles. Car ran great for 30000 miles then fell apart. Tires at 28000, windshield wiper motor ($300) computer ($1000), 2 weeks in the shop, a/c on/off as it wants, dealer that cant figure out what is wrong, now the transmission is acting up big time - wont shift out of 4th. Did I mention poor resale value? Looks like Christmas with all the warning lights on my dash....

Replaced brakes four times in five years. Now have 140,000 miles still mostly reliable. Have had problems with drain on electrical system. Brand new battery will die if car is not started every day. AC switches off and on until car is warmed up. Have replaced water pump. Serpentine belt tensioner fell off while driving when car hit 139,000. I have always done my maintenance so it has been mostly reliable. Now that mileage has gotten high it is time to get a new car.

Overall a very enjoyable ride and fun to drive. Comfortable for long trips. Have needed major engine work due to head gasket failure @ 105,000 miles along with other repairs. CD player has broken twice without extensive use. Passing it along to my child for use at college, so it will stay in the family a bit longer, and replacing it with a new Malibu
