A 5300 Vortec V8 is standard along with a heavy-duty towing package.
- Versatile and innovative cab configuration, strong V8 engine, high tow rating.

AV - Good or bad - 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche
By MeCanada - February 3 - 2:00 amToo much windshield. Broke one allready. Gas mileage not great. Fun to drive. Lots of power. Make a diesel, soon???? Too much room for mud to hide in the wheel wells. Big grill to catch hoppers No slide decking on box is a pain some times

there crazy, we aint stupid. - 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche
By N. B. Doyle - January 18 - 2:00 amShe might look good be it doesnt cut it. Its not a rock its a pebble. GM should take this toy and work it on the farm and on gravel roads before they talk. Its a sad day when you have to go and get a tractor to pull it. back end to light, poor electronics, poor design over all, they sould go back to the board on this one, water leaks, poor steering, poor warranty work, three weeks the repair shop was enough to leave it there period. GM ought to be paying you to advertize. thats the only change.

all useful truck - 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche
By beewize - January 18 - 2:00 amSold old ford and 96 toyota tacoma for this truck, and am not disappointed. Keeps my stuff locked and dry, can haul anything, carries 5 people allday and night with comfort. Try removing just the back glass on a warm days drive, its great.

LOVE IT - 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche
By DARLENE FERGUSON - November 4 - 10:00 amMY HUSBAND AND I PURCHASED THE AVALANCHE AS MY PRIMARY VEHICLE FOR COMFORT AND SAFETY REASONS BECAUSE WE HAVE TWO DAUGHTERS, QUADS AND OFF- ROADING EQUIPMENT TO TOW. WE LOVE THE FACT THAT THE REAR WINDOW IS REMOVEABLE AND THE VERSATILITY OF THE BED. HAVING THE HARD COVER COME STANDARD IS A DEFINANT PLUS FOR BIKES AND ATVS. THE KIDS HAVE ALL THE ROOM THEY COULD EVER WANT IN THE BACK AND HAVE TONS OF ROOM TO GROW. THIS IS THE BEST TRUCK WE HAVE EVER HAD AND I WONT GIVE IT UP, I DONT EVEN LET MY HUSBAND DRIVE IT!!!!
