my xc90 - 2005 Volvo XC90
By talwarp - October 29 - 1:53 amVery comfortable around town and commuting to/from work ... great on road trip with 4 golfers because their golf and clothes bags all fit in the back and no problems cruising the hills fully loaded ... easy to maneuver in and out of spots and it looks good in the parking lot.

2005 XC 90 V8 - 2005 Volvo XC90
By mf3681 - October 5 - 1:06 amGreat initial quality. The V8 is a strong performer with decent in town fuel economy. The vehicle is still in break-in and I expect mileage to improve.

Worste SUV in the market - 2005 Volvo XC90
By vito9 - August 29 - 7:00 amI have never in my life experienced such a disastrous SUV. It is not reliable at all and the slogan "Volvo for life" is crap and does not mean anything for me as a T6 owner. I dont know where to start. New transmission at 80k, new steering rack a bit later, new hatch lock, tie rods, stabilizer links, ball bearings, joints, new breaks after 30k, leaking coolant, defective coolant lines and tubes, leaking windshield washer (broken tubes). This SUV is crap. NEVER, NEVER buy a volvo again! I had one before but this is the last time i am walking into the Volvo dealership to buy anything. I dont really like Japanese cars but the truth is that they are reliable!

Best Volvo ever! - 2005 Volvo XC90
By howard - August 20 - 12:50 amQwned Volvo since 1990 ... great car, beats BMW hands down ... drives very smooth, controls are very simple, handles well. Very comfortable and very safe. The bluetooth phone option is a must for true hands free driving. Put some Nokean snows on it and it goes anywhere. Kids love the dual screen DVD in the headrests. Safe, simple comfortable. The T6 Turbo engine is great! And yes, dont expect great gas mileage ... it is a very heavy car with dual turbos! If you want great gas mileage, buy a small car. Also only car with true anti-roll technology that includes a gyroscope.

Unrealistic Expectations - 2005 Volvo XC90
By sean.rowesr - August 8 - 12:00 pmThis is by far the most disappointing vehicle purchase I have made. The transmission has gone out three times in less than 70,000 miles. The radiator and multiple hoses had to be replaced and the maint department at the two Volvo dealerships my car has been towed to were rude and unprofessional. The service department actually told me that my car was poorly built and Id be better off buying a different vehicle. I was told by the manager that the XC90 is plagued with mechanical flaws and the gentleman that brought my car to me from the shop threw the keys on the counter and walked away without speaking. They didnt even give me a new transmission..they stripped one from a car on the lot!

T5has been great so far - 2005 Volvo XC90
By TClarke - July 18 - 5:26 amOur three month old 2005 S80 was destroyed in a multi-car accident, with us taking five seperate impacts! 2 guardrails, 3 other vehicles. Confirmed to us the Boron steel safety etc. Replaced it with a new 05 XC90, 5 turbo. The vehicle has been great so far. 61,000 miles, and just replaced the Michelin tires. Right rear wheel bearing went out at the same time. Struts are about ready to go. I drive it hard daily @ 20,000 miles year. Fuel usage has been good for this type of SUV. My high was 24.1 mpg highway. Normal city 19 mpg. If you are not towing a heavy boat/other, this would be the engine to have, however they do not offer it this year. I would buy one again.

Volvo XC90, Happy Customer - 2005 Volvo XC90
By El Paso, TX - April 16 - 9:36 pmAt first I hesitated before pulling the trigger, now I am glad I did. The kids like the rear DVD player (the wireless headphones are awesome, love the surrond sound system) and the moon roof. It rides like a car not an SUV. I have purchased two Jeep Grand Cheerokes in the past I am glad I made the switch to Volvo. The headlamps exceed my expectations. I feel safe knowing that my wife and kids are protected. Great SUV.

By Charleskr - January 31 - 1:00 amSafe, stylish and peppy! High quality, very attractive, performs well--it can walk with any kid in a chevy while providing high class safety and comfort! This is a winner!! Owners are invited to a driving school, where you begin to find out just what this vehicle can really do!!
