This Year's Model Updates:

The Sequoia is virtually unchanged for 2002. SR5 models have two additional stand-alone options this year: keyless remote and front foglamps.

Pros:
  • Ultra-refined drivetrain, surprisingly agile handling, versatile and comfortable interior, impeccable build quality.
Cons:
  • Non-descript styling, comparably low towing capacity.

The only complaint I have is the MPG. Around town, with a 2wd, I average 12-13 which I thought was somewhat low in comparison to GM V8 products. Other than that, its great.

We absolutely love this car. It drives great and the seating is wonderfull. We can pack up our kids and friends and be on the move. A couple frustrating things about the vehicle is the long reach from the driver to the console. The CD, radio and A/C buttons seem so faraway. I am 55 and have to physically move forward to reach the controls. The other, is how awful the stereo system is. The sound is awfull... do something about this Toyota. We would more than likely buy another Sequoia but those will be the little things we look at. Overall, it is a great car. Love it, Love it, Love it....

I owned a 4 Runner prior to the Sequoia and my daughter owns a Camry, it is impossible to beat Toyotas quality.

Cant hear the outside traffic! Rides like the Continental! Superb command of the road! Power is there, just step on it! The truth is... if you test drive one youll buy one!

great vehicle, tough to see whats behind you when reversing, eats up the highway and off-road nicely, great for large families

While I love the size and comfort compared to other SUVs, I have had a number of non-drive train problems, none of which the dealership would fix under warranty, despite the truck being less than 3 years old. Antenna no longer retracts, several pieces of interior molding have had to be replaced, including the drivers side door handle, motor on liftgate window burnt up after only a couple of years, and the air conditioner is a piece of junk. Not only does the AC control decide whether youre getting hot or cold air depending on the temperature you choose (and it varies with outside temp), but the strength of the air output changes if you change the temperature, or if you accelerate.

Fun vehicle to drive. It is very well built and plenty of standar features. I felt that the 10 speaker description on the window tag is misleading. They count the front door speakers as two because is has a tow elements (tweeter and wolver - if I am describing it right). But even count this speaker as two each, I still can not find two of the ten speakers. The sound system could be a little better.

Disapointed on some simple features missing I expected to be in this price range of a vehicle. Being my first Toyota I expected some features found in lower costing vehicles. My bigest dissapoinments were the inside lights having no switch on the dashboard to turn them on to look back at night to see if the kids are okay. My wife is upset no vanity lights were on the visors Will post again in 6 months once I am more familure of the vehicle.

I love my Sequoia, specially the interior, its roomy inside, the only thing that I notice about my Sequoia it needs more horsepower but after I reach 60 mph it runs so smooth.
