This Year's Model Updates:

The Sequoia is virtually unchanged for 2002. SR5 models have two additional stand-alone options this year: keyless remote and front foglamps.

Pros:
  • Ultra-refined drivetrain, surprisingly agile handling, versatile and comfortable interior, impeccable build quality.
Cons:
  • Non-descript styling, comparably low towing capacity.

  • Unexpected Gonverner on the Vehichle - 2002 Toyota Sequoia

I thought I thoroughly researched this Sequioa...Not !!! My car does not go beyond 96MPH. I complained to the dealership . I called Toyota who stated there was a governor on the car. I find this disgraceful !!! The top speed should be as seen on the speedometer. How can they get away with this. I will file a consumer complaint for material misrepresentation. I hate car manufactures and now this confirms their dishonesty. What else is Toyota hiding?

Ive had mine about a year & have zero complaints. I bought it with 100K miles from a dealer who has sold me a number of Toyotas & I would not buy anything else. It is a used vehicle & friends comment that it looks very well kept. It drives great, visibility is great, never had any problems. gas mileage is not so good, but if you want great gas mileage, buy something else. If you want comfort & a reliable family SUV that protects you, you need to drive it!

I am pretty much satisfied on my Sequoia. No problems yet and hope to keep it that way.

  • Sold on Full Size SUV - 2002 Toyota Sequoia

Initially I was hesitant to commit to such a large and heavy vehicle. However, after one month of driving it, I am sold! It is fun to drive, easy to park, and perfect for hauling lots of kids and their stuff around. My only minor compliant is that it does tend to guzzle gas. I enjoy much more than I thought I would.

I love my Sequoia. The only thing wrong is that they depreciate.

  • Still lovin it!!! - 2002 Toyota Sequoia

Since the first test drive, Ive been in love with this vehicle. I love the fact that it drives as easily as a car, but gives you the feel of total safety.

  • Good Mileage? - 2002 Toyota Sequoia

I love this SUV. Past expierience was a Surbuban but never felt safe traveling too far from dealers service department. One item this car needs is memory seats and mirrors. I read several users getting 15 plus Miles per gallon?? On board computer is reporing no better than 14.2. Does everyone only go downhill? Alos own a Tundra.....the rocketship of trucks!

  • Best full size on the Market - 2002 Toyota Sequoia

This is t a great full size SUV. Do not waste your time looking at the others unless you are going only for lowest price. Remember quality has a cost and I believe that it will be offset by lower repair bills. The only disapointment is the stereo system, it has something to be desired if you like to crank it up once in a while. When I have the chance it will be upgraded.

Bought 2002 Jade Green Ltd. 4x4 two weeks ago. I am reasonably satisfied with the vehicle (since I did a lot of research before hand and there have been few surprises), but I would have to say that the quality of the interior leather, carpeting and plastics have a more "industrial" quality than what I have come to expect from Toyota. (this is my 7th) It is quiet for a vehicle of this size, has very little wind noise at cruising speed, feels stable on the road (except when encountering strong wind) and is very roomy inside.
