  • Great SUV - 2007 Toyota RAV4

The RAV4 Ltd. 4wd V6 beats the last two Honda CRVs I have owned, except for the uncomfortable front seats. My wife and I both find them very difficult to sit in when taking any trip over 1 hour. They really need to improve these seats since the car is otherwise so great.

Just passed 10,000 mile mark. Gas mileage not 29 mpg like sticker says, more like 21-22 mpg. Finally adjusted tires so ride not so bumpy. Humming noise at 40 mph is almost unbearable. Dealer says its normal. Drove other RAV4s and heard the same noise. I love everything else about my RAV, but dont know how much longer I can stand the noise.

  • Still Love This Vehicle - 2007 Toyota RAV4

This is a review of a 2007 Limited Rav 4, which was the top-of-the-line model when it was released. Its still a terrific SUV, although by todays standards its missing some features, such as a back-up camera, lane warning, video screen, push start and USB ports. However, it does have bluetooth for a cell phone, heated seats, a very spacious cargo area with storage under the cargo, a reversible, removable carpet/rubber mat for the cargo hold (which keeps the back clean), automatic headlights, and the tire mounted on the rear, which Ive always thought looked cool. The tire has a premium cover that matches the silver of the car. The rear door swings open, rather than up. The rear seats fold down with extreme ease - just pull a lever. The car has a premium sound system with a CD player, which isnt available anymore. Id say that the gas mileage is average, brought down a bit by the all-wheel drive. Pickup is also average, although the vehicle has always been fun to drive. It has good clearage for snow, anti-lock brakes, and all-wheel drive that kicks in automatically. Im a short woman, and the foot controls are easy to reach; its very comfortable to drive. Visibility is good. I was commuting a long distance when I bought the Rav4, although now I probably drive under 10,000 miles a year. This car has been reliable and hasnt needed major repairs. The leather seats are comfortable, although Im noticing a little cracking on the sides of the front seats. The drivers side visor is drooping - the bracketing is getting worn out. I like the dash controls, which are unfussy knobs and buttons. All told, its been a fun, practical, and reliable vehicle.

Traded in 03 Accord for 07 Rav4. Loved the Accord, but wanted AWD and better visibility. Handles great. Easier to park than a car.

Pro: Nimble quick and easy to drive! Exceptional safety system. Very fuel effecient for large V-6. Exceptional tourqe coupled to a smooth refined drive train. On road 4x4 capable. Comfort and ergonomics are excellent. Cons: Below averge sound system lacks fedelity. Skimpy on the underseal. Sunroof noise.

  • Great Suv - 2007 Toyota RAV4

This SUV is nimble and quick. It is still fun to drive after 2 years and 30K miles! The gas mileage - even for the V6 - is great, usually 22-23 mpg in mixed driving and 27-28 hwy. Acceleration literally blows anything else off the road and almost stops on a dime. It handles like its on tracks. I have not had any mechanical issues with the vehicle. The one thing it needs, however, is a mounting bracket for the front license plate. In a 2- plate state like this one, that can be a problem.

Have driven 17000 miles. Day to day driving it only gets 23 mpg. EPA estimates 24 to 30 mpg. Seats not very comfortable on drives over 40 or 50 miles. Rides rough, you feel every bump. There is a large blind spot on both rear corners. Dont like large swinging rear door. The 4 cyl engine takes a lot of pedal to get the vehicle moving. Get the V6. I wont buy another.

The leg room for a big person is somewhat restrictive.

  • Love my RAV4! - 2007 Toyota RAV4

My RAV4 is so fun to drive. It has enough oomph getting on freeway ramps even with the four-cylinder model. Ive had great mileage; 22 in town and 27 on the highway. Of course, anything has to be better than the 1997 Mercury Mountaineer I had before. :-) Even with FWD, living in the snowy Midwest, although its a little squirrelly, Ive been able to get around just fine.

If you want a reasonably priced SUV that has a LOT of power and versatility, look at this one. Some people may find the ride a bit rough. Unless you are shelling out BIG bucks for variable suspension, there is a compromise between the responsiveness of a stiffer suspension, and a smoother, "I cant feel the road" ride. Its all about what you like. The Limited IS highly responsive, but also has a reasonably smooth ride. The interior quality is good (I didnt say great!) and in-line with the price. The rear seats can be moved forward or back, accommodating large passengers or more cargo. Its a mid-sized SUV that offers some interesting features for a reasonable cost. Go for the 6cyl version!
