This Year's Model Updates:

The 2007 Toyota Prius lineup gets a little racier, as Toyota adds the Prius Touring model, which has a sport-tuned suspension, 16-inch alloy wheels, foglamps, xenon headlights and a larger rear lip spoiler. The other notable change for 2007 is that the original Toyota hybrid car now comes standard with front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags.

Pros:
  • Outstanding gas mileage, low emissions, generous amount of interior room, easy to maneuver in tight spaces, excellent build quality, reasonable price.

  • Uncomfortable, at best - 2007 Toyota Prius
    By -

Overall this is a great little car, but be careful if you dont get the adjustable leather seats. Ive had the car for about 1 1/2 years and although Ive saved a lot of money in gas, Ive spent a lot of money on acupuncture treatments for my back - and I didnt have a back problem before I started driving this car. It seems they put all the expense under the hood and then skimped on comfort. I tend to get a new car every 2 to 3 years and Ive never had one with such an uncomfortable seat. Im selling it soon.

When I first bought the car, I said only the wife should drive but soon all of us were drawn to drive this space shaped car. Easy car to own for city folk. Dont go long distances because your seat will not offer the comfort needed for long trips. Great mileage and fun to drive in the city. Enjoy a simple interior design that fits 4 comfortably. A car for all in the city. All we have done is changed the oil and regular maintenance.

  • Good family car - 2007 Toyota Prius

Traded in my Acura RSX for this prius when I was 6 months pregnant because I wanted something more family friendly that would also be easy for me to drive late in my pregnancy. This car runs well, is very comfortable and practical. Now that I have had my baby, it fits my car seat and stroller and I even have

  • Love my Priuss - 2007 Toyota Prius
    By -

At age 56 I have come to appreciate the practical things in life much more. No more do I require a vehicle that does 0-60 mph in less than 6 seconds. I much more appreciate value for my $1. My 2007 Prius was my first purchase of a Toyota and I had to convince my wife of the new purchase as she didnt like the looks of the car. But after driving it and seeing all the features it had, she suddenly changed her thinking and hopped on board. That was 8 years, 174,00 miles ago. Though we bought a new 2014 Prius in July 2014, we are finding it hard to part with our 07. It runs great, has the original battery and will chirp the tires during hard acceleration from a stop, something the 14 wont do.

  • Just traded my Prius - 2007 Toyota Prius

Great on gas mileage but I traded it because the traction control is AWFUL! Got stuck in the middle of the road 3 times with no power and twice on my lite slope driveway. Not safe in the MN winters when you lose power if the wheels spin. Had all options and everything worked great. Not comfortable though with manual seats, no power anything and no sunroof.

  • Found flaws after I bought it - 2007 Toyota Prius
    By -

Good gas mileage, but the rest is nothing special. Lots of electronic doo dads, but lacks substance. I guess the MPG is a pretty important issue these days. Headlights very weak on high beam. Ride good and stable, but seats are pretty uncomfortable and driver seat needs more leg room. Im 6 ft tall.

  • Whats wrong with my brakes? - 2007 Toyota Prius
    By -

I purchased my car in May of this year as a used vehicle. I loved it until last week. I was sitting in my car, which was off, when i turned the car on it asked me to get to a level ground and take the e-brake off. I would have except I was on level ground, the e-brake was off and my car wouldnt start. My dashboard had all my brake lights on. 4 hours of assistance and towing and they told me it was my battery. Exactly one week later, I was driving down the highway, less than a mile from my exit when my car started making a beep noise, and again ALL my brake lights came on. This time my car was in motion and the brake pedal would not work, it was rock stiff as I went 60 mph on an exit ramp.

  • Prius - Economical & Well Built - 2007 Toyota Prius
    By -

I love my Prius. It gets great gas mileage (43-51 mpg). It is roomy and comfortable for me at 511" tall. I would recommend the Prius to anyone who wants to drive economically. Its even fairly comfortable with my wife and two children with me. My only complaint would be that it doesnt handle as well as some other smaller cars that Ive driven.

  • Its Beautiful When You Get to Know It - 2007 Toyota Prius
    By -

Maybe the big draw is the gas mileage, but once you get to know this car, it becomes a thing of beauty. Once you begin to understand that the lines were developed for efficiency, rather than trend, the smoothness of the hybrid drivetrain, the excellent handling (mine is the touring model) and the good feeling that you are making each drop of gas go as far as it can, you grow to see the beauty come through. Now, when I look at it, I see an utterly gorgeous machine. One that is more advanced than any BMW, Porsche or Mercedes. Its also very very useful. It can carry four passengers in comfort, carry 10 bags of cement without a problem and fit in 8 lumber.

  • Gas Mileage/Reliability - 2007 Toyota Prius
    By -

My 2007 Prius Touring model with Navigation is excellent in two areas: gas mileage (EPA 44-48) and reliability. People should not expect it to drive like a sports car, to ride like a luxury car, or to perform like a high clearance 4WD SUV in winter conditions. However for what it was designed to be, it is a very good car. Just dont have unrealistic expectations and you will be very happy with a Prius. I have also owned an Avalon and two Camrys and they were very good cars.
