First let me say that I have always purchased American made vehicles and was skeptical about buying a Foreign made car. Before buying my Matrix, I used edmunds.com and other sites and did many hours of research. It wasnt until I saw and test drove the Matrix that I realized what I was missing!! When you first sit in this car, it has the feeling of a mini-van. The Matrix handles curves like a dream and is very fun to drive. I paid $16,388.00 for the base model which has an automatic transmission, cruise, A/C, power door, power locks and stereo with C/D player. The floor mats are even good quality and look snazzy with Matrix written at the corners!!!

I would still purchase this car. The only complaint that I have ever heard of for this car is the road and engine noise. I only heard that comment about a year after I purchased it and didnt honestly notice it until then although now I do. A+ for breaking ability. B for acceleration. A+ for forard view. C for rear viewing ability.

The Toyota Matrix has to be one of the best Toyotas Ive owned. I have had sports cars, trucks, everything and this car seems to cover each of those vehicles needs perfectly. Its fast and fun as a daily driver, and gas mileage is excellent. Interior space is cavernous on the Matrix. I purchased an 8 Live Oak tree and fit it w/out bending into my Matrix with the hatchback fully closed! Enough said regarding that issue. Exterior wise, this car is very sleek and gives just a little hint of aggression in its lines. Very nice... Overall, you get a sports car, a truck, and a Toyota all in one.

This is the perfect car for us. Great mileage (25-27 city, 32-37 hwy). This looks small on the outside but is laid out great very efficient and feels very roomy. This car hold TONS of stuff (4 adults, 3 day camping gear (firewood included), surfboards on top and bikes on the back) and still got 34+ mpg on the trip! The 110v plug is awesome, didnt need to buy a car charger for cell phone or iPod. The most car for the money, imo. Would buy again in a heartbeat. Owned for over 2 years now still runs like new.

I love driving this car. Lots of head room for my tall husband too. Have to be careful with parking curbs as front and sides of car are low to the ground.

This is a great car that is fun to drive. The seats are molded to you and are very comfortable. Car has good pickup and is fun to drive. Quite roomy in back though I might make the cargo area cover easier to put no and take off.

i love the matrix. it handles very good andi am tall so it is so much easier to get in and out of without rolling out of the car like you do on most compact cars. this is the first car i have owned that i would not trade or sell for a very long time and the gas mileage is very good too. i get about 35 miles to the gallon on long trips and around town i get about 30 miles to the gallon. if any one is looking for a good car the matrix will win your heart.

This car has been a blast since day one. It would be nice if Toyota would give them a little more low end torque, but once you get them rolling, these babies go! Excellent cargo space and utilty all rolled up into a very eye appealing package. I get so many comments on this car its unbelievable. Very comfortable on long trips, good on gas and fun to drive. A winner in my books.

  • Do yourself a favor - drive one! - 2004 Toyota Matrix

If you think you want an SUV but you know that youll spend 99% of your time on paved roads and you only need room for 4 or less passengers, then you owe it to yourself to look at a Matrix. Seats 4 adults comfortably with plenty of leg and headroom. Rear seats and front passenger seat fold completely flat for hauling cargo. Friends who have driven my Matrix comment on 1) the excellent driving position and 2) the ease at which the manual transmission shifts. Look folks, its simple: at $2+ per gallon of gas these days youd be fuelish to pass up on an opportunity to save big $ annually at the pump, not to mention the $ youll save vs. the cost of an SUV.
