This is the best new car we have ever purchased. It is easy to maintain and drive. The Matrix gets a lot of attention when we are out. Some people mistake it for a sports car. Others think it is a station wagon. We like it.

What can I say about the New Matrix? Isnt she hot! I love my Matrix. Great sporty looks, dependable, easy driving and about 300 miles to a tank. I needed something that looked good but also had room for my sons Hockey gear. Lots of space in this car. Not only could I put in 3 kids hockey equipment, but also the 3 kids! Very roomy backseat. Plenty of places to put your extras. It took me 5 months before I found 2 of the little compartments next to the dash for storage. A pleasent surprise. Good pick up and a smooth ride on the highway. Also plenty of power in the mountains. I would recomend this car to anyone.

  • One Year with the AWD Matrix - 2004 Toyota Matrix
    By -

I have 15500 miles after one year with the 2004 AWD Matrix. No mechanical problems. I am located in the upper midwest so AWD in the winter is a big deal. Winter came and I had no problems. Summer time I have a boat so we are on the water and at the beach a lot. It is a great beach car. I average about 31 mpg on the highway and 21-24 mpg in town. For a 4-wheel drive, that is as good as it gets. Zippy and nimble in town. Comfortable on long trips. Needs more low-end tourque. Big hills can be an issue.

  • This is a great car! - 2004 Toyota Matrix

I love my Matrix. It is fun to drive and sporty. It feels excellent on the highway. I have to be really mindful of the speed I am driving because the car just glides. I have 2 children also and have been pleasantly surprised at how roomy this car feels.

  • Great hauler/commuter - 2004 Toyota Matrix

I got the matrix certified used in 2008, and never had any problems with it. Im at 90,300 miles and it still runs great. It has great cargo capacity for home improvement projects. Ive hauled anything from a 55" led TV in the box, to 600 lbs of ceramic tile, and it works like a champ. Good acceleration, good gas mileage. Like others, I have a tiny complaint about the small compartment under the shifter not staying shut, but other than that and some random rattling at times, it has been wonderful. We also have a 2004 corolla, and have experienced nothing but the best quality from Toyota. Were happy Toyota customers, who will be grabbing the 2014 Highlander as soon as it shows up.

I love it! Smooth ride...quiet...good pickup...easy to handle...easy to park...fun to drive. I love all the options...I have everything except the navigational system. Ive had it for almost 3 months and havent regreted my purchace and wouldnt change my decision to buy it if I could! Ive owned several new cars in my life, and this has got to be one of my favorites...without a doubt!

This little car has been wonderful for me. I am an outside salesperson. I love the room. I love the mileage. And we have ffound it great for camping. Not real crazy about the plastic deck in the bck. We added padding so that cargo wouldnt slide so much. Other wise, I really like my Matrix.

  • AWD Matrix aka "Snowball" - 2004 Toyota Matrix
    By -

We bought this car for my wife to use, since it was Super White, my daughter called it "Snowball". Its been fun to own and we realy like how functional it is. It parks and has the fuel economoy of a small sedan, (we get about 31 mpg on the highway a little less in the city), the capacity of a wagon and the AWD of a SUV. While the engine could use additional hp, I am willing to accept it for better fuel economy. While I wasnt too happy with the looks of the car, it does grow on you. After all, its kinda hard to go wrong with a Toyota!

  • Verry happy with the car - 2004 Toyota Matrix
    By -

Ive had the car for around 2 months/3000 miles, and am very happy with it. For sure its not the quickest thing on the road, and I kinda miss my 5-speed, but its still fun to drive, ride in, and look at. The AWD system works well, and adds some confidence on wet roads (still waiting for the first big snowfall to try it in the snow!). The back seat is really roomy -- and the tall doors make it easy to get the baby in and out of the car seat without anyones head getting bumped (his or mine...).
