the best car Ive ever owned - 2004 Toyota Matrix
By rebecca perkins - October 1 - 2:00 amI bought this car in April of 2003. In November of the same year I was in a head on collision with my 10 year old daughter and my 5 month old daughter in the car. The car was totalled, but all three of us came out just fine. It held up beautifully on the inside, enabling us to walk away. I am now looking to buy another car and guess what Im getting: a 2004 Matrix. I loved it that much! It was fun to drive and had plenty of room in the back for all of our "baby stuff". I highly recommend this car to anyone I talk to.

Love the Matrix XR automatic - 2004 Toyota Matrix
By Kay N Jay - September 7 - 10:00 amI love my new Matrix. After waiting several weeks for delivery, I like the car even better than I expected. The engine seems quieter than the test car was. The ride is very smooth, and my Matrix (with 17-inch wheels) handles turns nicely. Overall I am extremely pleased with the car.

New Jersey - Matrix XR - 2004 Toyota Matrix
By tekcom - September 1 - 10:00 amGreat car... Looks cool and sporty. Excellent interior design (guages, instruments, etc). And for a small compact, it actually is pretty spacious. Nice car all around.

Toyota does not stand by its owners - 2004 Toyota Matrix
By Dabear - July 22 - 3:20 pmI have owned the car and it was a great fun car could ignore the minor problems such as a defective battery in the first week and minor fit and finish problems. After 3 years and 37k my clutch went and looking on the internet I found out that 03 and 04 Matrix have hundreds of reported problems with early failure of transmissions.BTW,many of those posts are on the Edmunds forums Toyota has refused to acknowledge there is a problem Now at 79K I find the clutch and transmission is going All my previous standards have gone over 100k

Fantastic Little Car - 2004 Toyota Matrix
By Marcuss - May 26 - 2:00 amI have never been so happy with a car. Ive owned Accords, Maximas, Pontiacs, and more, but this is my favorite car yet. It corners like a hatchback, it performs in the snow like an SUV, its fun to drive with the top open in the summer, and the rear space has allowed me to move TVs, coffee tables, and more that would never fit in my Honda or Maxima.

Matrix XRS - 2004 Toyota Matrix
By Tanamoor - May 26 - 2:00 amI bought this car because it was so much fun to drive and had a lot of acceleration. But at 11,000 miles, the transmission had to be replaced. Ever since then, there is not as much acceleration and you have to fight with the gears (sometimes cannot get it to go into the gear). I am very disappointed. This is not the car I bought. I have been to the service department and they say there is nothing wrong with it. I would not have bought this car as it drives now.

To drive it is to love it. - 2004 Toyota Matrix
By ex-jetta gal - April 25 - 10:00 amWhen I first saw commericals for the Matrix, I thought, "God, what an ugly car." Then I got inside one. Wow. The seats are so cushy, the dash is so fun and so bright, and the car feels so spacious. Even my tall friends seem to have plenty of room. Also, the car is loaded with little storage cubbies and power outlets. The clutch is very easy to ride, and the overall ride of the car is very smooth. Lots of compliments... this car has a little something to appeal to everyone. Plenty of space to tote around all my junk. Great price and gas mileage to boot.
