I am very pleased with my corolla S. It is a joy to drive and the performance and fuel economy is excellent! I shopped around quite a bit and for the money this hands down beats the competition by far!!

It is my first Toyota car. I really like it the ride is good the economy is great. The only thing I do not like is the position of the driver seat in relation to the steering wheel with the seat back it is uncomfortable to reach the wheel. It definitely needs a telescoping steering wheel. ABS and four wheel disc brakes should be standard. Beyond that great car.

I have had this car a little over two years and average 38 MPG, I am very easy on it however. I drove an automatic and they are pathetic, however, the manual can move descent. It is not "fun" to drive, however, it does its job-reliable, good mpg. I am now debating to keep this a long time, or trade it in for something like a Lancer soon.

I bought this car just for the fuel mileage we have several cars and trucks but none good on fuel. I have been pleased with the mileage so far with only 1300 miles on it I have gotten low 30s to 39.2 mpg. This car will move considering its small engine, it will bury the speedo with no problem. I have no problems with rattles or road noise at all very quite and comfortable. It does blow around a bit in higher winds but its a very light car. I was worried about the warm starting problems that I read about on boards with the 05 models, so far no problem at all on this or anything else. I am a big guy and have two kids we all have enough room. Would I do it again? YES!

I have been selling Toyotas for 7 years and never realized what a great car Corolla is! I love mine! I drove a Celica for 4 years and Corolla S performs as well with more interior space and visibilty.

  • Boring but nice - 2006 Toyota Corolla

When you buy a Corolla, you know youre not getting a sporty chick magnet kind of vehicle. Youre getting a safe reliable car that will get you from point A to point B in comfort. And the Corolla does that just fine. The engine is extremely loud at low speeds. Brakes are not that great but acceptable. Handling is subpar. But the engine does calm down a lot at cruising speeds and the car becomes luxury like quiet. Bumps and rattles are nonexistent, its a very smooth ride. Theres lots of headroom due to the car being so tall. Its taller than a Camry. The intrument panel illumination is a very clear and bright white but it doesnt match the green from the stereo and HVAC controls.

The S model is a fun car to drive with great mileage on long trips (up to 41). It gets better mileage than my old 96 with more power. The 5 speed transmission is not the smoothest shifter Ive owned but it makes the car seem more powerful. The exterior looks sporty with the body kit, spoiler, and fog lights. The interior has nice build quality and the trunk size is more than proficient. No mechanical problems at all. Ive never been to the shop since I change my own oil. I would definitely recommend.

Ive had this Corolla S for about 3 months now and by far this is the best vehicle Ive ever owned. The ride quality superb, the interior is very spacious and appealing. You cant find a better looking car for under $18000. I was looking into a Scion TC but a TC with the all the options on the Corolla S was close to $22000. To sum it up: Test drive one. period.

  • Good car so far - 2006 Toyota Corolla

Bought this car new in 2006. Currently have about 27,000 miles on it. No problems at all. Fuel economy is great. took it on a long trip (4500 miles in 21 days) from PA to Rocky mountain national park and up to Yellowstone and back again. Car preformed very well on the hills and 70 mph on the interstates with AC on. So far, not one glitch. Shooting for 150000 on this baby!!
