Overview & Reviews
There are no significant changes to the 2006 Toyota Corolla, although new SAE testing procedures have resulted in lower horsepower ratings.
- High-quality and roomy interior, outstanding gas mileage and crash test scores, long list of safety features, illustrious reliability record.
- Awkward driver-seat position, bland on-road personality, gets pricey even when equipped with just the basics.

disappointed with the big T - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By 2006 black S model - August 18 - 12:16 amFinally broke down and got a new car last year. Its riddled with rattles, loud and not too comfy on long trips. Great gas mileage!! Good power, even in the mountains. Wont be looking at Toyotas again.

Lovin it! - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By Toyota4Life - August 5 - 6:53 amMy first Toyota and I love it! From what I hear about Corollas it will probably be my last for at least 200,000 miles. And you can bet your bippy that Ill get another after that! Superb gas mileage, comfy seating (Im 5 tall and its hard to find a luxury- like car that fits me) drives fun, quiet + smooth. This might sound strange, but I live in the boondocks and have never been able to get in many radio stations with my other vehicles, The Corollas antenna rocks! Not that I use it much now that I have a 6 disk Cd changer! Wish the volume went up more though.

Oh my aching back! - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By MRI tech - August 4 - 5:56 pmThe Corolla is like a Timex watch, very reliable. I never worry about it breaking down. I bought this car new and I have only had to do scheduled maintenance. Great gas mileage, 30+. Now for the bad news, very uncomfortable seats, steering wheel does not telescopic, air conditioning hardly blows out at all when in head/foot postion. Defroster takes forever to unfog windshield. I drive an hour each way to work, and my back kills me. The arm rest might as well not exist, it is of no use except for storage. I am presently looking for a "comfortable" car. Why does inexpensive have to hurt so much? Windshield cracks if anything hits it however small.

Bought on Reputation alone - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By ruffy25 - July 22 - 1:31 amBefore I went car shopping, I did extensive research on several Makes and Models. Its a lot of money to spend impulsively after all. I decided on Toyota after test driving a Ford Fiesta, Honda Accord, even a MINI Cooper. I found a 2006 Corolla with only 47,500 miles and bought it, based on reputation of reliability/dependability and Toyota earned it. It was a bit pricey, but holds value very well. Decent acceleration for a 1.8Liter, and economy is superb, especially with my driving habits. I enjoy seeing how much I can squeeze out of a tank, and have gotten as much a 44mpg. yes, 44..but I did have a strong tail-wind and no grade for nearly 100 miles on a lonely S. Calif desert road.

Toyota Corolla S - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By Renee Ortiz - July 14 - 9:50 pmThe Corolla S gets excellent gas mileage, which makes for a great commuter car. Its really fun to drive and has a smooth, comfortable ride. Ive received many good complimants from numerous passangers. With the S edition, you not only have fun driving this car, but you also do it in style. Who could have guessed that a Corolla could look this sporty and sharp? I absolutely love my Corolla S and would definitly buy another one if I was looking for a new car. I have had no problems with the car so far.

Great Buy - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By Jamie81 - July 12 - 8:56 pmThe 06 Corolla S is a very nice car for the price and for the gas milleage. This car is the perfect size. Not too big or too small. Seats in back are big and roomy.

Ill keep buying them. - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By Cathy - July 10 - 7:13 amMy last Corolla was a 1991 which I kept for 12 years. I tried a RAV4 but it had too many minor problems, so I traded it in for this car, used at 9000 miles. I find it has less power than my 1991 had (even at its advanced age) but that might be due this one being automatic. It is extremely comfortable to drive and really looks sporty. Ive found my forever car... my next will be a Corolla - in another 10 years!

Best vehicle I have ever owned - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By Cathleen Foltz - July 5 - 4:40 amOver the past 25 years I have owned seven different Totota Corollas. I keep them for several years and they have been excellent vehicles. I sell them outright and then buy another one new. I have never been let down and have never made any expensive repairs. One of them I put 65000 miles on and never did anything but change the oil and filter and put gas in the tank and sometimes put air in the tires. The quality of these vehicles speaks for themself. While it is sad that the Japanese build these quality vehicles keeping me from buying American made products, I cannot and will not buy American vehicles. My friends buy American vehicles and have nothing but problems. Go Toyota.

debs review - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By debashis bose - June 19 - 3:06 amthe car has a very nice interior and has excellent driving comfort. The car comes with some excellent features, like height adjustable driver seat, 6- CD changer, wooden type interiors etc. One of the features that I would havbe liked the car to have is the Anti Lock Braking system. At present it is an optional feature.

Disappointment - 2006 Toyota Corolla
By Richard - June 11 - 8:03 amMy new manual Corolla has terrible fuel economy, 33mpg in the best case on hwy. Dealers service dept. claims "it is what is" and can not be improved.
