Overview & Reviews
A sporty new XRS model debuts boasting a 170-horsepower engine and a sport-tuned suspension. Additionally, all Corollas receive a restyled front fascia and rear taillights. The LE model now has Lexus-like Optitron instrumentation, along with a cloth-trimmed center console and sun visors. Side curtain airbags, stability control and a JBL audio system are all new options.
- Refined and roomy interior, excellent gas mileage and crash test scores, long list of safety features, spunky XRS model, illustrious reliability record.
- Awkward driver-seat position, bland personality, gets pricey when even basic features are desired, sedan body style only.

I LOVE this little car - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Tom Hudson - August 21 - 6:26 pmThis is my first Japanese vehicle in 20 years. I am 57, the car is PERFECT for my needs. I drive from Richmond to DC, once a week on I 95, and in city driving 6 days a week. The car gets fantastic gas mileage. My LE has all the bells and whistles that my former BMW HAD and MORE.

Great Toyota Experience - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By CLM - August 2 - 10:00 amI was trading in my Blazer that Ive had for 7 years and debating the Corolla or Mazda3. I test drove and investigated both and the Corolla was 100x the value. Deciding factor was Culver City Mazda vs Manhattan Beach Toyota experience...like going from hell to heaven. And then the car...what a zippy, fun car! Why have I wasted 7 years in a tank?! I love my Corolla and everyone keeps telling me their "my Toyota has never had problems" stories. I love the burlwood finishes, gives the interior a nicer feel. Low external noise compared to other cars in its class.

new owner - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By lprp - July 22 - 12:30 amAs a new Non-American company automobile owner I have to say I am impressed. The build quality is exceptional. I am having a blast driving the Corolla. Just wish I had made the decision to purchase the vehicle earlier. Could have saved us a lot. I drive 26 to 30 miles a year, and if the fuel efficiency I have seen so far continues it will pay for itself in less time than the financing. Toyota makes an awesome product. I am a happy convert.

Great Little Big Car - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Great Little Big Car - July 18 - 9:53 amNice economical car that looks classy. Fun to drive, very comfortable and quiet inside, great gas mileage, logical controls and good radio sound package. For its size and type engine class this car is tops. On my wish list only two things: (1) Make Sirius Satelite Radio a standard option from factory rather than me having to install it. (2) With the keyless entry and panic remote already in the vehicle, why not just include the full alarm system rather than making us install it as an option with an aftermarket type control. For the few dollars it would take to complete the alarm system, just make it a full standard item on the LE model.

Best car Ive ever owned!!!!!! - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By James - June 21 - 7:13 pmThis is my 1st new car!!!!! I was reluctant to purchase a toyota because I have always owned american. My wife convinced me to buy our new corolla. We have only owned the car for about a month but so far is has been excellent. We went from a SUV which was getting about 16 MPG to almost 40 MPG. There is plenty of room inside the car and the price was lower than I thought we could get a new car for. The dealer was very helpful and did not get overbearing to sell the car. So far I am very pleased with our purchase.

A Happy Dad - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By timandlorene - June 19 - 10:00 amThis vehicle is quite possibly one of the best values on the market today. The list of standard features is impressive; the options make it even better. Best of the best is the airbags. Two up front, two in the seats; and two side curtain airbags are an option. Pre-tensioners in the seatbelts take up slack......if you get hurt in this car you were probably going WAY too fast! 174 horsepower, 6-speed close ratio transmission, 0 to 60 in 7.1 seconds. 90 plus mph in the quarter-mile, and a governed top speed of 130 make this one seriously fun ride. A taunt sport suspension and 4 wheel ABS disc brakes bring this pocket rocket back to earth in short order

Dependable car - as it should be - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By JSW - June 10 - 6:33 pmBought this after owning a 1996 Dodge Stratus. Have not regretted the decision. Fantastic commute car with EXCELLENT gas mileage. Now at almost 88K miles, its showing the wear and tear, but its a keeper. Reliable and very dependable vehicle. It has never let me down on my commute to Denver - even in winter snow storms. As for other reviewers that have reported mechanical problems...stuff like this happens, live with it.

Car Ive always wanted - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By Valeriego - May 8 - 10:00 amIve always read that Toyotas were the best cars. Yet too expensive for my budget and was always a little of my reach until now. Ive opted to lease payments which are low enough for me to relax some.
