Overview & Reviews
A sporty new XRS model debuts boasting a 170-horsepower engine and a sport-tuned suspension. Additionally, all Corollas receive a restyled front fascia and rear taillights. The LE model now has Lexus-like Optitron instrumentation, along with a cloth-trimmed center console and sun visors. Side curtain airbags, stability control and a JBL audio system are all new options.
- Refined and roomy interior, excellent gas mileage and crash test scores, long list of safety features, spunky XRS model, illustrious reliability record.
- Awkward driver-seat position, bland personality, gets pricey when even basic features are desired, sedan body style only.

Grandma Car - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By jhy - May 31 - 7:43 pmToo pricy. Engine is too noisy (leak of power). Cheap Goodyear tires (cant hold). Uncomfortable seats. Build quality is very poor. Nothing special. Toyota is now too lazy to be the best.

Disappointed - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By wonderboy1 - July 22 - 10:00 amAfter I bought it, I already visited the dealer 4 times to repair. Interior is really a nightmare. A consol, side airbag molding, dashboard part, ceiling molding, and etc are shaky and coming out. Heat shield at bottom of a car makes noises, and tire pressure monitor warning light is not working at all. I think toyota never inspects their car before selling it. I am really disappointed.

Not So Hot - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By CJ - January 5 - 7:43 amThis vehicle handles dangerously on the highway. Toyota chose to equip this vehicle with Goodyear Integrity tires, which arguably are some of the worst passenger car tires ever made. Torque steer is way out of line for such a small car. The Corolla gets blown all over the highway in strong winds, and is difficult to control. Persistent problems abound with the fuel system in the Corolla. Including no start conditions after the car sits 30 minutes. Impossible to make factory stereo iPod ready. Cheap, paper cone speakers produce horrid sound. This car simply fails to do anything well.

Boring, generic, poorly crafted - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By rfk - April 24 - 12:43 pmI purchased this car new in 05 and about 5,000 mile ago the rattling around the driver and passenger windows and door and dash (front and rear) has become unbearable. Its gotten to the point that I just want to smash it into a wall. My daily drive has become a test of my patience and hearing (from having to blast my stereo).

Dont let toyota fool you anymore! - 2005 Toyota Corolla
By a_mechanic_001 - August 17 - 1:53 pmI worked for a dealership, and now I own a Toyota. I have to tell you, this car is the cheapest pile of garbage they have ever produced!! Recalls on computers, serpentine belt tensioners that fail, belts that make noise, intake manifold gaskets that crack and leak..
