  • I look to forward to my commute - 2005 Subaru Legacy

I purchased the vehicle loaded with almost every available option because I considered it an excellent value. After three weeks, I still feel that way. My only concern about driving it is that I will start collecting traffic tickets for speeding, as this rig just wants to go fast. I purchased the car less than a week after I initially drove it. The reason I was interested is that my wife drives a Forrester XT, and I have enjoyed it so much that I wanted a Subaru with a turbo for myself.

Our 1st new car... we got the GT sedan, and really love the car. ALOT of power and still has tether anchors for our toddlers car seat. Premium fuel only means the gas bill is a little high, and honestly the fuel economy is not that great, but I love the power it has, and the fun to drive factor makes up for the thirsty engine.

This vehicle handles like a dream. As a 4 cylinder you would never know it by the quick aeceleration. The leather interior and climate control make it a very comfortable ride. This is one vehicle that begs to be driven.

I bought a 2005 GT Limited in April. I got a very good deal because I paid cash. I love this car except for the gas mileage. Around town, the car gets a lousy 10 mpg and thats without kicking in the turbo. On the highway, it gets better, e.g., 23 mpg. I dont feel that Subaru is truthful about the gas mileage.

I dont know about the turbo model, but the non-turbo base was 19k out the door. With that considered, any minor defect this ok with me if it get fixed under warranty. Car has been good, great handling, plows through snow and rain and the design is nice. Engine power is pretty weak but at 28 mpg average (with AWD mind you) is a pretty good trade off. Some of the minor issues with mine. Some kick panels in the interior were not assembled correctly and I had to fix them myself, dash rattle, and 2 wheel bearings went bad under warranty. Other than that not a single problem. Shade tree mechanics will find the car easy to work on, brakes, oil, plugs all easy to service.

I have had great experience with my subarus I feel VERY comfortable, and/confident with the handleing and performance of these cars. I had a 96 subaru, traded it for the 2005 I never had any problems during the time with the 96. Was never in the shop for anything!! Maintenance Free, other than 3,ooo mi.oil changes and I did have the timing belts changes @60,000 for maintenance, it was a gem! So I knew that my new car was going to be another Subaru

ought at 45,000, now have 77,000. have replaced turbo, gas tank, power steering pump, transaxle, rack and pinion on right side, head gasket leak, #3 cylinder coil and spark plug, and now the timing chain kit needs replacing ?

  • Legacy Meets WRX - 2005 Subaru Legacy
    By -

After 5,000 miles, I can say that Subaru has done a wonderful engineering job. They have mated the formerly slow, boring Legacy with the racy WRX. My 4-cylinder feels like an 8. Even with the 5-speed AT, the car still moves like a BMW. Turbo lag is not noticeable. The car handles, turns and brakes great. The MOMO steering wheel, luminescent gauges and grippy heated cloth seats tell you that youre about to go racing. However, this car is perfect for a family - comfortable, a forgiving ride, quiet (even the 17-inch sport tires do not roar) and safe with the additional air bags and AWD/ABS. My father took it out for a long run over all kinds of roads and came back amazed.

  • Lovely Wagon - 2005 Subaru Legacy

Have been driving it for about 3 months now and LOVE everything about it. I average about 23mpg combined with a 5spd and i think that is just fine for a vehicle so fun to drive. Also the build quality is very nice like an audi or bmw ( both of whose entry offerings are smoked by this ). would certainly recommend it.
