Stealth hotrod - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By Snowstorm - February 5 - 11:56 pmI traded a VW Passat V6 for this car and it beats the Passat in almost every way: handling, acceleration, traction, braking, comfort and standard equipment. Build quality and materials are equal to the VW -- and thats saying a lot because the VW is a great car! The Legacy feels glued to the road unlike any sedan or wagon Ive driven with the exception of a BMW 3-series. In fact, a friend who own a Porsche Boxster was comparing (favorably) the Legacys handling to his car after I let him take a spin. When he let me take a reciprocal drive in the Boxster, I understood.

Oil Eater - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By Oilwoes - January 26 - 2:03 pmBrand new car from the beginning burns oil - 1600-2400 miles/quart on average. According to the dealer, Subaru specs allow oil consumption of 1000 miles/quart before they want to fix the problem. No drips - just occasional stench of oil belching for my driving pleasure. My 1997 Outback with 80,000 miles never ate oil. Will never purchase a Subaru again.

happiness - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By baltimoresube - December 27 - 9:13 amWe have had the car for 4 months and 4000 miles and it has been fun to drive; it has all the features youd need with no frills. Cars acceleration is much better than some say; fine for travel. Averaged 27mpg on a recent 900 mile trip to SC. Great space, very efficient; easy to parallel park.

One of the best on the road! - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By chris - November 16 - 12:46 amThis is my third Legacy....and the best, nicest, fastest, and most fun to drive yet! It turns heads everywhere I go, and performance-wise it totally hugs the road. The turbo engine and speed/handling is excellent, and the 250hp engine is a MAJOR improvement. My wife now drives my 2002 GT Limited sedan, and she is thrilled with it as well. It puts her Accord to shame with handling, safety, performance, and styling. Ill continue to buy Subarus from here on out - theyve set the standard very high for performance and safety, yet they continue to keep the cost reasonable. GO SUBARU!

Love this turbo wagon! What a beast! - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By Mainiac - August 30 - 12:53 amWe traded in our 99 SAAB 9-5 SE Wagon and have no regrets so far. We needed AWD for winter driving in our area. We already own a 93 Legacy AWD Turbo and have appreciated its performance and reliability over the last 12 years. We are very impressed with this cars performance - especially the tremendous acceleration over 3,000 rpm. The ride is stable and quite firm which is fine with us. The handling is crisp and inspires confidence. We like the exterior lines - design very well conceived and executed. Some of the interior materials and switch gear seem less robust than wed like but time will tell. Overall, an impressive, well thought out, entertaining AWD performance wagon.

Japanese feel like a European - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By slickmetal - June 19 - 1:43 amIts my first Subaru. I always have been a Toyota fan. I have been an owner of a Corolla, Camry and the 2000 Celica. I wanted a AWD, thats why I want to try the Subaru. Its a solid car. I have always like the interior of European cars like VW and Audi. The Legacy is the first Japanese car I feel like Im inside an European make. The traction is excellent and cornering doesnt feel like youre in a wagon. Subaru should put in a base engine with 200 horse power to make it more fun to drive without paying the premium price for GT turbo model.

Home Run! - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By A.R.G. - June 14 - 10:00 amI first drove it for two blocks, and was almost sold, until I flexed the Scoobies muscle. It is the grown up version of the WRX: smooth, quiet, soild. I bought it the next day. It keeps impressing me. Great car!!

Excellent buy - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By mindflayer - May 11 - 8:56 amCompared this to the Infiniti G35, Infiniti FX35/45, Volvo S40/60, and so on, and I found this "non-badge" car to be superior. I have a bad back, so comfort was critical, and the car delivered that and performance.
