One hot car - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By CAinAL - February 5 - 3:43 pmI bought my Sub after seeing so many in the mountains of California. I now live in Alabama and I love driving it all year round, but it is definitely a cold weather car! The vents blow warm air so I have to keep the AC on all the time in the spring, summer and fall. The AC has a hard time keeping up with the 100+ degree weather and high humidity. But it handles great in the torrential downpours we get here and I wouldnt trade it.

competent, good looking and inexpensive - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By socalsubaru - December 14 - 7:40 amLooked at a lot of cars, never owned a Subaru before. Checked out the Legacy and was impressed with price, features and looks, not to mention AWD. Have had the car 2000 miles now and Im pretty satisfied. Average mileage says 24.3 on avg on the onboard computer, handles nice and smooth, nice storage for golf clubs, nice onboard computer and digital compass in rearview mirror; little short in leg room - emergency brake hits thigh and dead pedal is a little short in height (I wear size 11), floormat hook sticks up too far catches my shoe, a/c is weird - will blow ice cold/then not so cold/ice cold/not so cold in a cycle (dealer says this is normal!),

Buy a radar detector - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By slewis - November 17 - 9:30 amThis car has it all. Comfort, safety, and fun. All wheel drive 250HP turbo is unbelievable. I test drove a WRX but realized it couldnt be the family car I needed. The Legacy GT was the answer. I test drove 330s, TL, TSX, 9-3, A-4. Nothing comes close to the fun of the Legacy. The all wheel drive along with the power is an unbeatable combination. Youve got to test drive it to understand.

This is a Subaru? - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By jen1972 - October 30 - 11:30 amDriving out to look at the Acura one more time and possibly sign papers on it, I passed the Subaru dealership. Im so glad I did because it was love at first sight. I drove the Legacy and the Acura was a distant memory. For much less money I got much more car. I wasnt expecting this much; after all, I owned a 91 Legacy and it was a very reliable but very basic car. This car is beautiful and a blast to drive. Has everything I want and more. All of which was standard equipment! 250 HP, ventilated heated leather seats, 6 CD changer, dual climate control, Sportshift, 17" low profile wheels, signal indicators on side mirrors, DRL, AWD, fuel usage and temp display. All this for around $26,000.

Best in Snow, fun in sun - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By DrM - October 18 - 4:13 amA survived a 40 mile commute during this last Ohio winter because of this car. Excellent handling in ice and snow. Sport shifting down much safer then braking on ice. It is nice to have the automatic with the option to shift manual. Now that the sun is out the sun roof is open. I love down shifting and zooming up steep hills.

By Andre Lachapelle - September 23 - 7:56 amWinter is coming and the pleasure keep growing . It is my first AWD and Subaru . I had a Infinity G-20 before . It was more luxury but this one is quiet and very fun to drive . Engine has a pretty sound and is quick enough . The pick up is good at any speed with manual transmission . Good supprise without the turbo and the gazoline ( no super ) cost . On icy road , i had fun fun fun . It is a winner .

Nikobonjons Subie - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By Nikobonjon - August 31 - 7:13 amPros: All in all this is a good car with exceptional handing abilities. It is a fine car and holds the road well. The turbo engine is super when it kicks in. The car is quiet and clean. Cons: Expensive to maintain especially the tires. Turbo burns premium unleaded. Somewhat narrow (hip room) front seating. Typical turbo lag. Fuel economy could be better for a car this size.

2005 Legacy GT wagon - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By mikexray - August 30 - 5:36 amI bought this car used with 86000 miles, now has 96000 miles. The cars only issue is a whining noise from the engine that I hear only when it is cold. This noise goes away after about 3-4 min of warm up.I live in Montana where there are serious long distance stretches of open highways and I just love the way this car holds the road it feels almost as if its on rails but still rides comfortable. The 250 hp engine really gives it up when you need it.The manual transmission is such a perfect match to the engine that turbo lag is never an issue. After 4 1/2 months I still love it every time I get behind the wheel. Now winter is here and the car is proving its all weather capabilities in the snow.

2.5 GT Ltd Wagon 5M - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By Mountain Man - July 19 - 3:16 amThis car is a real sleeper--its stylish yet conservative looks dont reveal the sporting performance unleashed behind the wheel. As a wagon, its incredibly utilitarian and practical, tons of fun, very comfortable and a great value compared to other AWD wagons priced similarly and higher. Subaru finally has a car which can compete on many levels with the more upscale entry-luxury and luxury models. No, this isnt a luxury car, but the appointments, comfort, performance, style and price make a compelling package. Costs much less than the smaller, heavier, slower but more luxurious Audi A4 Avant 2.0T. Gives the Volvo V50 T5 AWD a run for the money. 2005 VW Passat 4Motion cant compete.

2005 Subaru Wagon. Great value - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By Lodgical - June 22 - 4:26 amThe dealer is 200 miles away, but the service was superior to any closer dealers. The power is fantastic - roll on from any speed and you have lots of it. The car could use a few niceties, such as stereo controls on the steering wheel, memory seats and a little more rear leg room. Other than that, it has been reliable, fun to drive and comfortable. We just returned from a family vacation of 3000 miles return trip. Not many complaints from my wife and daughter.
