Overview & Reviews
As the Impreza was redesigned just last year, not much changes for 2003. Convenience has been improved; keyless entry is now standard equipment on the 2.5 RS, TS Sport Wagon and Outback Sport. For the WRX, Subaru will offer a standard rear spoiler on the sedan (though you can still get the car without, if you want) and Sonic Yellow is available as an exclusive WRX color.
- A stout 227 horsepower in the WRX, all-wheel-drive grip, a variety of sedans and wagons to choose from.
- Often pricey when compared to its competition.

By ferrellms - July 24 - 2:00 amNice car - got it used. Pluses - well-made, fun, good stereo, nice looks. Minuses - fuel milage, seats not comfortable, not cheap.

outback sport - 2003 Subaru Impreza
By ET - July 24 - 2:00 amI really enjoy driving this car. I do find the clutch to be a little stiff, and the turning radius is not what it should be on a car that size. Also, it gets terrible gas milage. However, I am very happy.

Lifesaver - 2003 Subaru Impreza
By darley - July 24 - 2:00 amWe bought the 2003 WRX with the insurance check from our 2002 WRX, which was totalled just 3 weeks after purchase. The four 19 and 20 year passengers (two of whom had no seatbelts fastened) all walked away from the crash with minor cuts and bruises. The driver drifted off the side of the highway at 80+ mph at a dangerous curve where the shoulder dropped off and the car turned over several times.

Also they should have left the body alone till 05 and came out with the STi in the 02-03 body style. Biggest downfall :::::INSURANCE IS A KILLER on this car!!!:::::

Great All-Weather Sports Sedan - 2003 Subaru Impreza
By d__w__a - June 11 - 2:00 amThis is a fantastic automobile. Ive had mine for almost two years and its been a great experience. I got one of the first ones and the only "problem" Ive had was an overly sensitive system control computer which displayed "check engine" warnings after prolonged high-rpm driving. The car was out of commission for a few days to have the unit re-programmed and I havent had a problem since. The car is roomy (for a compact), comfortable and. most importantly, a blast to drive.

TS=Terrific Sportwagon! - 2003 Subaru Impreza
By Beacom - May 31 - 10:00 amCant rate the reliability yet but every other aspect; handling, function, acceleration, looks, quality are superb. In choosing the TS, I researched the Protege wagon, focus wagon, vibe, element & matrix. This is in the uppermid price range, but is clearly on top in features & function. The gas mileage is good considering the power and towing capacity. I liked the protege wagon until I drove the TS. They are not even in the same club. I like the Element but there was not enough driver leg room. The leg/head room in the TS is great. Normally my hair brushes the ceiling in smaller cars, but I have 2 inches above my head in the TS. Overall, a very nice car.

Another VW Convert - 2003 Subaru Impreza
By Angelou - April 30 - 2:00 amOwning a VW for the past 20 years, I was skeptical about the switch. Now I know what Subie owners have been keeping for themselves all these years. All the auto publications were not exaggerating what a value this car is compared to all else that is on the road. I just dig how well it performs in all conditions. Took it for a real test in the canyons above L.A. in the Angeles Crest National Forest area with lots of immediate twisties and it was impossible to keep the smile off my face. Nothing can touch this car for under 25K.

Nice Ride - 2003 Subaru Impreza
By Bean - April 30 - 2:00 amI traded in my beloved firebird for the WRX after a scary snow incident. The WRX has made the transition easy. The turbo gets things going quickly, the AWD handling is incredible. Its a sporty, reliable car. One you can take to the track for fun, or pack in some friends for a long road trip and still be comfortable. Very happy I purchased the WRX

The MOST fun Ive had in years - 2003 Subaru Impreza
By Chuck T - March 23 - 2:00 amI have owned this fun, and enjoyable vehicle (my first Subaru) for seven months now. The AWD & Turbo is more fun than my previously owned 1966, 912 Porsche 5 speed, and my Saab 99E (front drive). High altitude driving from Sacramento to Reno is astonishing In the rain: I can not think of another car sold in the USA that can keep up with it through a given course- that does not sell for $10,000 more. I honestly believe that Subaru must subsidize the WRX sales for WRC rules. Like GOOD wine, if you do not understand it or appreciate it- dont buy it. Those that do will SMILE- I DO! Everyday that I drive.
