The handling for a small car is wonderful. It is tight, compact, maneuverable in traffic, and its gas mileage is always over 30 mpg. I am used to large luxury vehicles but find this car refreshing and a joy to drive. I continue to appreciate the visibility from all angles. I do resent it being discontinued however.

When I first viewed this car (Scion XB) it seemed to be designed for the 20 something crowd. It was aimed at the same demographic as the Honda Element. However,it seemed to me that there were many more 30, 40, 50, and 60 somethings driving the Elements that I saw. So I decided to test drive an Element and fell in love with it. It was a short romance, because then I decided to test drive a Scion xB. That was it. This car was $5,000 cheaper than a comparably equipped Element, got 10 miles per gallon better mileage, and was more fun to drive. Im not in Toyotas planned demographic for an xB either. Im a 71 year old retired college professor.

  • good in a rollover - 2006 Scion XB

I had this car for almost 5 years and put 82K miles on it. I never had to bring it to the shop outside of oil changes, breaks, and a new set of tires. The car is very light and the wind can push you pretty hard. I got into an accident and rolled the car four times landing on the roof. I walked away without a scratch. ItÂ’s a good car for the money cheap to maintain but not very comfortable for long drives. The engine is very loud over 40 mph.

My Scion xB limited edition 3.0 is a fine green car. It has lots of room inside and a good driving position. It also has a terrific DVD system with 7 inch LCD screens in the headrests. It gets good gas mileage - 30 miles per gallon in mixed driving. This vehicle is great for a family of four. Im very happy with my purchase and highly recommend the xB.

  • So Its not what I thought It would be - 2006 Scion XB

I bought it from the dealership used, and it was upgraded with Limo Tint, and nice 18 inch rims and tires. Well, I dont know if the problems I have had with the car are the manufacturers fault, or maybe the fact that I have 18 wheels on a car that normally has 14.But, the ride is NOT smooth at all. Its insanely bumpy at times, especially living in Southern California, and having pot holes everywhere. There have been many MANY times Ive muted my sound because I thought for sure I ran someone/something over because its so loud. Also, the MPG is a lot lower then I thought it would be, I get about 220-250 miles per tank.

  • Fun Car, Milage not as Advertised - 2006 Scion XB

I am slightly disappointed in my xBs gas milage, the best milage Ive have gotten is 31 mpg highway, 26 mpg city. I currently have 11,000 miles on the car. The paint is chipping off and I cant seem to get a touch up bottle from the dealer.

  • Great value! - 2006 Scion XB

Ive had my Scion XB for about a year and a half and think its great. It gets excellent gas mileage and visibility is very good. My Scion has a rattle almost from day one on the drivers side dashboard. Dealer has tried two or three times to fix it but cant seem to find it. Also the interior lighting is too dim. Cant find anything at night. Very, very uncomfortable on long trips -- 3 hours plus. I do enjoy driving it locally -- easy to park, brakes work well, low maintenance, etc. But at 27,000 miles, my tires are just about worn out. I have rotated the tires every 3 to 4,000 miles. I guess this must be average. Anyway, Id buy it again if I had the chance.

  • Post-modern Car - 2006 Scion XB

This is a great car. It is a car that is either loved or hated by consumers. There is no middle ground. It is fun, fun, fun. It is a nimble, little, urban loving car. It has a very tight turning radius. It darts in and out of traffic effortlessly. If you are looking for something a little out of the ordinary, with great fuel mileage and reliability, this is the car for you.

  • Kool Car but cheap for a reason! - 2006 Scion XB
    By -

I bought this car new. I had to pay extra for cruise and a cheap piece of plastic with a cloth covered piece of plastic called an arm rest. my elbow barely fits on. This did add a rear cup holder which made it better. My windshield suffered a stress crack 6 days after i purchased and i have rode around with a cracked windshield ever since. This is a well known problem but not covered under warranty. Have strange rattle in dash that is annoying. Cruise control is a cheap after market piece of plastic. It does not stay at a constant speed so i never use it. Also is not flushly mounted. Over all this is a cool car with great mpg and room but misses the mark on the small things.
