The 2006 Scion xB receives a new steering wheel with audio controls, and the Pioneer audio system has a new head unit design and remote mini-jack port for portable music sources. Additionally, the xB wagon offers dedicated Apple iPod connectivity, which delivers iPod display information and allows unit control and recharging through the audio system. In other news, the xB's horsepower rating drops from 108 to 103 due to new SAE testing procedures.

Pros:

This car is great in town. We have never taken it on a long road trip. It is a little sluggist on hills though. It has lots of interior room. It is fun to drive and attracts lots of attention.

From day one, I enjoyed owning this car. I got the Special Edition RS 3.0 in Envy Green and it turns heads. With the front and rear sway bars and cold air intake package installed, its performance seems to have increased and it handles very nicely. Everyone that rides in the rear seat remarks on how roomy it is. With the rear seats down it swallowed a 5,500 watt generator in the box with room to spare. At 9,500 miles, nothing has broken yet, and I do not expect any failures. So far 31.8 mpg I am getting on average and 34 on a 1,600 mile trip at highway speeds with the a/c on.

I look forward to driving my Scion xB. It has an excellent heater and a/c. It only needs better interior lighting. Its a little noisy at highway speeds. I would like to see a diesel engine in the future

It is remarkable that a company can continue to build quality machines at three different price levels. Ive owned an Avalon, Camry and now Scion xB. While the xBs engine noise is rather loud at times, it gives the driver a great deal of confidence in handling and relability. For the Eastern winters I purchased four Bridgestone Blizzack snow tires; the traction and snow/wet handling are excellent. My gas mileage is climbing upward as I break the car in I expect the gas savings to be a big plus. One gets the sense that this car is well built for the price. Above all, it will be cost effective and have great utility. I expect the Scion lines to grow rapidly.

i really like this car, mostly for its height. getting out i only need to swivil and stand up. i bought it used, i think the previous owner beat it up. its new to me but i just tested the mileage andonly got 26mph, very disappointing, will try to find out why. my criticisms are 1. the only headlight is inadaquite, should have one over the front. 2. needs alot of rm. to park if you need to open the back,3. a little too noisy, and i bought it with a cracked windshield. didnt know it was a cronic problem. but i love how much you can see, lots of window space. also all the little spaces to hold things, fall all over the place. not deep enough. i love toyot, cant imagine driving any thing el

  • Good mileage with an xB - 2006 Scion XB

Our experience with the xB has been pretty good to date. We average about 35 mpg with mostly highway driving. The ride on the interstate is a bit bumpy and noisy. Our Camry rides better on the interstate and is better for longer road trips. This vehicle is fine for everyday driving or for commuting to work. It fits well for tall drivers - my husband is over 6 and it fits him very comfortably. I wouldnt purchase this unless it has cruise control installed.

This is the best car you can buy for money and more. It had good build quality and is super good on gas. It is the best on resale value.

  • A Great Runabout - 2006 Scion XB

This car replaced my beloved 95 Honda Accord Wagon which was wrecked, so I tend to compare it with the Accord. The xB excells in ease of entry/exit, price, fuel economy, head and legroom, cargo space when the rear seat isnt in use, 360 degree visibility, and ease of parking. On the down side, its engine performance is barely adequate, its ride quality is a little rough, it doesnt have much seat comfort, has a high noise level, and its handling in cross winds are tolerable but dont compare favorably with the Honda. In general, I like the Scion for local driving but miss the Accord for trips over 50 miles and cargo space with four people on board.

I bought this car early 2004. It runs great i have driven from Los Angeles to Denver Colorado. Lots of fun! No problems, A couple of trim and finish issues but besides that everything with this car is GREAT. I have the custom intake and exhaust. The only downside of this car is no pick up! However there is enough power to get through the Rockies in the snow without a problem.

  • Its about the MPG - 2006 Scion XB

Traded a 2000 Jetta for this because we had a 2nd kid on the way. No chance wed all fit in the Jetta. Its been fantastic. I used to miss my manual, but Ive gotten over that. Im 62" and have plenty room all around. Even the infant seat fit behind me. Plus it has calmed down my driving. There was an instant 10mph slow-down on the highway. Then, as gas prices kept rising Ive dialed my old man driving skills way up.
