The 2006 Scion xB receives a new steering wheel with audio controls, and the Pioneer audio system has a new head unit design and remote mini-jack port for portable music sources. Additionally, the xB wagon offers dedicated Apple iPod connectivity, which delivers iPod display information and allows unit control and recharging through the audio system. In other news, the xB's horsepower rating drops from 108 to 103 due to new SAE testing procedures.

  • "Best buy for a lower budget." - 2006 Scion XB

If you are running a "tight budget", this is your vehicle. It gets great gas mileage ($20 dollars will fill up your tank and have you running for almost a week). Its incredibly spacious (whether for cargo purposes or traveling with a "good amount" of people, this is your mini U-haul). It has trendy looks, the interior design is comfortable and practical (speedometer, gas and other engine related devices are within "driving view", you do not lose focus on the road while glancing at you speed).

  • I Dont Miss the HEMI! - 2006 Scion XB

This "car" is phenominal! I cant believe how much fun it is! I traded in a Hemi Ram due to gas prices and praticalitys sake. I originally wanted a Mazda3 Hatchback, but I was too upside down on the Ram to keep my payments reasonable. I always thought the xB was cool in a weird way, but figured it was slow and poorly made. How wrong I was! I havent had this much fun since my 1990 Mazda Rx-7. What the the xB lacks in horses, it more than makes up for with zippy handling and uniqueness. Even my big truck driving friends, who laughed and threatened to disown me at first, gave it the respect it deserves after they drove it. Im 62, and I can even sit in the BACK seat with plenty of leg room. Buy one!

  • Cute to the max! - 2006 Scion XB

I purchased our Scion as a Christmas present for my 44 year old husband. I drive an 8 cylinder pickup. Needless to say, with the high gas prices, I have pretty well taken over the Scion for trips to town (45 miles away, one way). I also enjoy putting my groceries inside the spacious rear end rather than leaving them in the bed of the truck. Laying the back seat down give a lot of room. With the back seat up, there is still room behind the back seat for a trip to the grocery store. With the special cover, you can hide your purchases from prying eyes behind the back seat. They also have a nice cover for when the seat is down that keeps the back of the seat from being damaged by cargo.

  • Dont use the A/C - 2006 Scion XB

This car is fine for running around town. I am assuming the gas mileage is ok as long as you dont use the air condition. Which is Southern California is next to impossible. Once the AC is used the gas mileage is horrible. With AC use gas mileage goes down to about 14mpg. Overall an ok car for around town errand, but next time I will buy something with a bigger engine so the air conditioner doesnt kill the gas mileage.

  • Fun but watch the windshield. - 2006 Scion XB

8th Toyota product. Bought for price, fuel economy and room. Not disappointed on any of the three.

  • Great Company Vehicle - 2006 Scion XB
    By -

These Scions are great for company vehicles. The come with standard vehicle skid control, antilock brakes, and roomy interiors. We use them for our employees, they are useful and great on gas. They are basically a rolling billboard we will plaster our company name and logo, with a wrap-around mesh type ads that will cover the side and rear windows (not the front of course). It is a great way to advertise.

  • The best care weve ever owned! - 2006 Scion XB

I do a lot of highway driving and this car is great. I get about 34 MPG sometimes more. People always say its so small, but when you get them inside, theyre always impressed with the space. Weve hauled a lot of big stuff in it while moving, have had 5 adults fit for a comfortable ride, and have never had any problems with the car itself. We live in WI, and Ive never gotten stuck in the snow, even when we had 19 inches this winter! The only thing i wish was different would be the suspension, its pretty bumpy on some roads. We also had to have the windshield replaced from a random crack that split all the way across. We bought a Yaris this year - Love Toyotas small cars!

  • Release Series 3.0 Envy Green Worth The Wait - 2006 Scion XB
    By -

It took three months but I finally just received my 5 speed xB Release Series 3.0 in Envy Green, (2,200 only will be made) and it is a great vehicle. This brings back memories of My 1978 Renault Le Car and is even boxier than my aging 1995 Suzuki Sidekick. I am a big fan of small cars that are well designed and Scion has it all figured out. As a "mid-life crisis" vehicle, which this clearly is for me, the xB has many practical design features like 3 seatbelts in the back seat (unlike the Honda Element), exceptional headroom and legroom, extreme affordability, peppy ride, excellent gas mileage, and a much higher "heading turning coefficient" (HTC) than cars 3 times its price.

  • Scion xB - 2006 Scion XB

Best small car for long trip I have driven. Lots of space inside and with the flat roof can put rack on, to carry kayaks and roof box. These do not interfer with handling of vehicle. Around town only gas up every other week. People like to see the car.

  • Great, sensible, affordable - 2006 Scion XB
    By -

Very unique, Everyone comments on the "Toaster on wheels" shape of the car love walking out to my car, cant help but smile when i drive it around at 30- 32 MPG with a/c blasting against the Texas sun. Loads of room inside, ergonomics make a lot of sense. its very simple and roomy everywhere. (looking around before buying a saw a lot of them, if you are in the market make sure to check several things, the front and rear plastic clip on bumpers in many cases seem to get damaged and should be checked as getting replacements color matched will be expensive. Also beware of certain aftermarket wheels in some cases they trigger the Indicator lights b/c of the way it reads MPH.
