A new 3.5-liter V6 replaces the previous 3.0-liter unit. Larger 17-inch wheels and tires are now standard on the V6 AWD model and optional on the front-wheel-drive version. Antilock brakes are standard on all V6 models. The interior has been upgraded to reduce noise and now incorporates metallic and leather trim. The front seats now have seatbelt pre-tensioners and dual-stage front airbags. New entertainment choices include MP3-compatible CD players, satellite radio and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system (late availability).

  No Regrets! - 2004 Saturn VUE

  Bought used over a year ago. Wanted something that got decent gas milage, could haul my big teenage kids and had a manual trans. Vue was about the only thing I could find that fit all three. Gets mid 20s for gas mileage in city / mixed driving. Had 118K when I bought it and at 143K now. Only repairs were new struts in the front right after purchase and two new tires. Overall very happy with the value and what it does for me. Gripes? has new various rattles seemingly every time I get in, interior quality only average, and interior design is very lacking for storage.

  I am a new owner and so far I am impressed with the performance. The dealership lacks organization and customer comforts. Service is over worked and delays are regular. Better interior design would be appreciated. A better audio system would also be appreciated.

  Ive got about 5K miles on my VUE and it seems like the best deal for the money. Lots of space with gas mileage you can deal with. I was going to get the ION but with the VUE deal at the time, it was actually cheaper to get a VUE than a similarly equipped ION. I have NO complaints as of now. Well see how the next few years go. Not to mention that Saturn makes buying a car so easy and hassle free that its SCARY! I would probably get something else at the upper levels (AWD, V6, Redline packages) but at the VUE FWD 5M level, you cant beat it.

  One fine SUV - 2004 Saturn VUE

  After almost 9000 miles my 2004 Saturn VUE (front wheel drive manual 4 cyl) continues to be a pleasure to own and drive. During a 3200 mile trip to New England and back carrying luggage and a bicycle carried inside the vehicle on an interior rack the VUE proved to be extremely comfortable even for my 6 1" frame. The ride is smooth and the four banger powerplant was adequate on the highway. Fuel mileage was in the 26 - 28 mpg range which is not bad foe an SUV.

  The Honda motor really transforms this car from a disappointment into a class- leader! Superb looks and performance to boot, sips at the pump for a 250-horse SUV!

  We purchased this used car while looking for a used minivan and just could not bring ourselves to admit we were in that stage of our life. So, Saturn Vue to the rescue. We really like this car and with the addition of the best tires we coud get, this car has met all of our needs. It drives great and compares nicely to minivans. The 3.5L V6 is very impressive and does good at the pump for an SUV. 20 to 24 in mixed driving. got 28 once on a long interstate only trip. Hit a deer once and was very happy my famly was in this car. Damage was one headlight to replace. What a relief! Safety and value. Seems to perform better than SUVs and minivans in its price range, without giving up much.

  Due to cash restrictions, I could not go for the full size SUV but I have four kids. The Saturn VUE offers a lot of leg room for front and rear. The rear seats fold down flat and lock in place for extra storage. Standard sound system is of good quality. They say 29/24 mpg. Not so, more like 24/22. I have a 4cc/5 speed. Not a lot of pickup. Smooth, comfortable ride and easy on the pocket book. Great deal.

  I enjoy our (her) Vue. I would have enjoyed a V6 rather than a 4Cyl but despite that it does every thing that we needed. It is small enough that she can park it in a busy area without go to the back of the lot, while being big enough to haul end tables and boxes to a storage unit. When the rear seats fold down you can fit 4 adults in the back for a friendly game of cards while it is raining at the game. I would reccomend this suv for the buget minded buyer with out a large family.

  We drive our Vue regularly in the West Virginia mountains and enjoy the power the Honda engine provides. Gas mileage is great on the road (26 mpg) and good around town (20 mpg). Ive had the most trouble with sunroof leaking but keeping the drain lines cleaned out seems to have solved that problem. Replaced right wheel bearing around 35K and the radio and tires just this year. Ive really liked this car, the size is perfect. We got the side air bags. I hope to keep it for many more years. It still looks and runs like new.
