Overview & Reviews
A new 3.5-liter V6 replaces the previous 3.0-liter unit. Larger 17-inch wheels and tires are now standard on the V6 AWD model and optional on the front-wheel-drive version. Antilock brakes are standard on all V6 models. The interior has been upgraded to reduce noise and now incorporates metallic and leather trim. The front seats now have seatbelt pre-tensioners and dual-stage front airbags. New entertainment choices include MP3-compatible CD players, satellite radio and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system (late availability).
- Strong V6, large doors ease entry/exit, spacious cabin, comfortable ride, excellent crash test scores, good fuel economy.
- Bland interior, low-grade plastics, inconsistent build quality, noisy four-cylinder, vague steering.

Hood Latch Cable - 2004 Saturn VUE
By Complaint - December 10 - 5:43 amI have had good service from my Saturn Vue but the Hood Latch Cable is stretched. Which I see has happened to other Vues form 2004 to 2009. There are complaint on the internet. The should be a Recall.

Ive enjoyed my Vue - 2004 Saturn VUE
By Linda - November 23 - 10:00 amWe have been fortunate to own this car. It has never given us any major problems and has always been very reliable. It drives well in rain and snow. Our grown boys always ask to borrow it if the weather is bad (snow or ice) or if they need the space for their friends! Our only issues have been minor.(hazard button broke and radio buttons are wacky). Other then that, the car has been great! My husband has kept it in great shape and my grandson loves being in it!

Fine ergonomics - 2004 Saturn VUE
By Sax - November 7 - 10:00 amThe engine and trans work smoothly and all the switchgear is easily located for a right hander. I have first hand knowledge of the benefits of the exterior plastic skin, which again, was very appealing. But the extensive use of cheap looking materials on the interior, turned me off all together, so I didnt buy this product.

what about mileage? - 2004 Saturn VUE
By woodinhills - November 7 - 10:00 amI traded a gas-sucking GMC all-wheel drive van for the saturn when gas hit $2/gal. So then, I purchased a lower- end Saturn ue- the 4 cyl/5 spd front wheel drive. Bottom of the line. Loaded with good stuff, tho- snrf, base stereo is great, heated seats, power drivers seat is great, etc. Drives nicely. However- onm the interstate in a headwinbd or ANY wind, this car struggles. I am getting UNDER 20 MPG on the freeway, driving very normally. I have had a tank @ 22 mpg, 24 mpg and thought I even had one @ 26 MPG. Overall, I get UNDER 20 MPG in this 2.2 liter/5spd car. BUY THE 6 CYL!

2004 VUE Tow Car - 2004 Saturn VUE
By Aug/Bev - October 1 - 2:00 amI pruchased the 2004 VUE as a Tow car for my Motorhome. It is easy to handle and light enough to tow 4 on the floor. As a around the town vehicle, it is fun to drive. I would suggest it to all my friends to buy, especially to those who travel by motorhome.

Good ride except for brakes - 2004 Saturn VUE
By anita king - August 1 - 3:40 pmI was so excited to get my 2004 Saturn Vue in December of 2007. Here it is March and now all of a sudden at the beginning of March I start having problems with the brakes. I couldnt buy an extended warrenty because I dont have the extra cash. I talk with a service manager and he told me to bring it in it would cost 85 dollars since my warranty was over by 3 days and 338 miles. But you are in such a hype to get a car you need that all you want to do is just get the car. I was at the gas station and heard this lady talking about her car with the same problems.

2004 Saturn Vue - 2004 Saturn VUE
By VUEBYU - July 14 - 2:00 amHonda motor and transmission is smooth as silk. I purchased my first Saturn in 1992 and it has 230,000 miles. Saturn Vue is a pleasure to drive. Added head and side airbags and xm satellite radio. Look forward to driving. Vehicle cruises at 80 mph with Rpm at 2000...unbelievable. On first long trip of a little over a thousand miles, averaged 26 miles per gallon. Glove compartment is el cheapo...overall, so far, so good with just under 3000 miles driven.
