This Year's Model Updates:

The Vibe is an all-new model in Pontiac's lineup designed to combine the best attributes of an SUV, a station wagon and a small van. Thankfully, the result is rather attractive and hip, not to mention utilitarian.

Pros:
  • Crisp handling, unique features, utilitarian design.

I used to own a Geo Prizm, (a rebadged Toyota Corrola), and I liked it. (A woman hit me and totaled it.) I then bought the Vibe (built on the Toyota Corrola frame). And I love it. I can fold down the back seats and fit all my band equipment and still get 35 MPG! Try that with a van or SUV.

I am 62" in my sixties and find this car by far the best new car I have ever purchased. Seats are so comfortable and so easy to get in an out of. I averaged over 35 mpg on a 6k trip over the winter. WHY WOULD ANYONE BUY A CUMBERSOME SUV AFTER TEST DRIVING THIS CAR. I have not had this car back to the dealer except for an oil change. I can actually get my Kayak inside for short trips. I love this car and can truthfuly say its the best car I have ever owed and I have owned over 30 cars. Originally bought for looks and price (Toyota engine & transmission) but its so much more than that.

Wherever I go, my car gets looks (even a year after I bought it). People, sometimes total strangers, ask me how I like it, and I always tell them that I love it. The proof is for those who get to ride in it. The unanimous decision is that the Vibe-GT rocks. It has tons of cargo space. It has excellent performance: Acceleration is better than most V-6 cars, although it doesnt really come alive until above 4000 RPM, with explosive acceleration hitting at 6000 (ie you have to push it hard to really move). Handling is surprisingly good thanks to a tight suspension. The ride is quite smooth - I have yet to have a CD skip, even over railroad tracks.

We bought our Vibe in June 2003. It is no-frills base model -- It is the first new car we have owned, and we love it. It is comfortable, fun to drive, and very cute. Love the cargo room! Handles well. good for longer drives.

I really like my Vibe. I average 21-31 mpg and have gotten 33 mpg on the highway. I was a minor traffic accidents where a Jeep Grand Cherokee hit me. It didnt move the car hardly any, and I was swerving hard to the right as fast as I could to miss being hit. When I test drove the Vibe, I got next to some 18 wheelers on the interstate, and hardly felt a draft off them. They were going about 70 mph at the time, and I probably 60 mph (getting on the ramp), then up to 70 mph go get next to and pass a few. I also swerved once at about 65 mph to dodge a squirrel (didnt hit the brakes, merely swerved), and the Vibe handled really well (the squirrel survived, too).

WONDERFUL VEHICLE! I test drove and test drove vehicles! This was my fav. Super fun to drive! Cute and I get 36 mpg better than the 34 on the sticker. Very comfortable and roomy. Has some cute options also! I love the moons and tunes and power package! Its a must!

  • I still love my car!! - 2003 Pontiac Vibe

Clocked over 120K in 10 years and still going strong. Fits everything I ever needed it to...Camping Gear, Kayaks on the roof, 46in flat screen, my 3 dogs, and dozens of 8foot 2x4s for the occasional home project. I live in PA and its been to Florida, Boston, New Orleans and everywhere in between. Its my first choice for long trips and gets great gas mileage-upper 30s on the highway. Great in all weather, even snow, but good all weather tires are a must. Odd problems are just starting to happen now...need to change the Catalytic Converter, first fuse just blew last month and something is wrong with the vent in the gas tank. Filling up takes forever. But still the best car ever!

Ive been very happy with my Vibe. Its cute, and fun and easy to drive. Despite its petite proportions, the interior has plenty of room for people and cargo, and the seating position is nice and high, so you dont feel like youre sitting on the road. Ive had several large and tall passengers who were impressed by the roominess even in the back seats. The Vibe gets great gas mileage - I typically average 30-34 (I have an automatic). The instrument panel is laid out well and the gauges are attractive

The Vibe has been a very trouble free auto since day one. It is 3 years old with 30,000 miles on it. It still looks new.

  • 2003 Pontiac Vibe GT is FUN to drive - 2003 Pontiac Vibe

I bought a Pontiac Vibe GT in December, 2002. It is a lot of fun to drive. It handles really well and is great on gas milage...I get about 30/gallon on the highway (if not more). It has an aggressive look that I like better than its sister car, the Toyota Matrix. It did have some problems though...dashboard rattles (one is easy to fix with an inch of electrical tape and about 60 seconds of time)and the glove box had a rattle which I think was just a loose cover over a screw. My cd player was making a weird noise when I would apply the breaks, but the dealer replaced it with a new one which seems to be just fine. Over all, a great car!!
