This Year's Model Updates:

The Vibe is an all-new model in Pontiac's lineup designed to combine the best attributes of an SUV, a station wagon and a small van. Thankfully, the result is rather attractive and hip, not to mention utilitarian.

Pros:
  • Crisp handling, unique features, utilitarian design.

  • Over 20K miles and still lovin it.... - 2003 Pontiac Vibe

I commute 70 miles round trip to work, driving both highway as well as hilly mountain roads, and I was sick of paying through the nose for gas. So I bought the Vibe, and I LOVE it! My bonus was its roominess -- you can fit a lot of stuff in this car (groceries, bikes, dogs, kids, skis, etc...) If you want to go from 0 to 90 in 2 seconds, dont get this car. If youre looking for luxury, youre better off with a Lexus. But if you want something affordable, roomy, and fun to drive, this is it!!!

I love this thing. After my sis accident on the highway with the sluggish Pathfinder, we bought this car and its great. Lots of cargo space and good fuel economy too, what more can you ask for!? Dont expect this car to be gutsy, but it sure is fun to drive.

I love my Vibe. I own the GT model and she sings wherever I take her. She is quick, different, and fully equipted. I will buy another one.

Sits high like a van, yet you dont have to climb in. Each seat, except for the drivers folds down.

I bought my Vibe new in 2003 and was concerned that I might have problems as it was the first model year. Im going on 4 years now, not a single problem and I still LOVE it! Its practical (room for just about everyone and everything) and gets phenomenal gas mileage (35-36 mpg on average). Its fun to drive and I still have enough money after filling the tank to do lots of shopping: tiny gas tank = less money to fill! I would recommend this big, little car to anyone whos budget conscious but wants a cool, spunky, dependable car.

I bought my Vibe used with 28,000 miles on it. Ive had it for 4 years and have not had any service issues. Did have the window bolts replaced for the recall (and my windows had started making a terrible noise). This vehicle has carried lots of cargo from roofing shingles to 10 trees. I also have hauled lots of kids in the back seat with no complaints. The car cleans up well and still looks good. I will most likely consider another one when the time comes to replace it. I drive about 80 miles a day so the 30 mpg is important to me. Its also pretty fun to drive, more fun than my Camry or Explorer

Im pleased with my purchase. I only have one complaint and that is that the exhaust smells like rotten eggs. I have taken it to several dealerships and they keep telling me there is nothing wrong with the catalytic converter, but it sure smells like a problem to me.

  • Nice alternative to small SUVs - 2003 Pontiac Vibe

Only have 2004 Vibe FWD for a month, but it is nice (fun?) to drive. High seating gives you SUV feel and the rear hatch area is excellent. Hoping for reliability of a Toyota with better styling. Mine is a base model with ABS, moon roof and all the other bells and whistles. Has nice pickup and fuel economy even with passengers, but ride is jittery on bumpy roads.

  • Exactly what I was looking for - 2003 Pontiac Vibe

I replaced my small pickup truck with the used Vibe as I wanted a front wheel drive vehicle with flexible cargo area. My work requires I get around in all weather, and I frequently carry pets, camping gear and stuff. We just had a rare snow storm here in AR, and this car got me everywhere I needed to go, it is great! I have the standard transmission, and am getting 31-32 mpg in town, better than I expected. The car came with the moon and tunes option, which is great fun. My only problem initially was that the plasic storage area to the left of the steering wheel kept falling open. I finally managed to remove and replace it, now its staying closed. This car is every thing I wanted.

Have had the car for 5 months and like it more on every road trip taken with it. MPG has averaged over 35 even in city driving with the A/C on. Lots of comments from people about the unique style of the car.
