This Year's Model Updates:

The Vibe is an all-new model in Pontiac's lineup designed to combine the best attributes of an SUV, a station wagon and a small van. Thankfully, the result is rather attractive and hip, not to mention utilitarian.

Pros:
  • Crisp handling, unique features, utilitarian design.

  • Cool Car... Toyota Quality? - 2003 Pontiac Vibe

I bought a base Vibe a little over a year ago and I think its great. Not much can match its looks, performance, versatility, fuel mileage and price. That being said, I have come across many little problems that are typical of Pontiac, maybe not Toyota. The driver’s window rattles when up, the driver’s seat shifts when starting and stopping, the blower fan sounds like it needs a new bearing, the rear windshield wiper stopped working, Ive had 2 rattles in the dash and the front tires have worn out in 10,000 km (Continentals)!! All little but annoying problems.

We bought this car when it was just a yr old in 2004. It had 36,340 miles. It now has 172,000 miles and still in GREAT Shape! We drive mostly highway miles and enjoyed 30 MPG but got 33 MPG on a recent trip to Ohio. Due to the 6 speed manual transmission and being extremely well maintained. You would be Amazed at what you can haul when the back seats are laidd down flat since the back cargo capacity is Huge! Sister car to the Toyota Matrix at a fraction of the price. I Love this car and would buy a new one but Pontiac is no longer making them thanks to GM. Replaced the brakes once. Alternator Drive Belt in 2006. The starter recently & tires in 2007. Otherwise just changed the oil religiously.

  • A neat little car - 2003 Pontiac Vibe

I bought my Vibe the first year they came out. I liked the look of it first of all, then driving it I LOVED it! The only reason I am trading it in is because I need a larger vehicle. This is a great car for a small family or a single person. Me and my 2 kids fit comfortably in it. When you want to go, you GO! This 4 Cylinder engine performs far above any other I have driven. I recommend it to anyone!

We have had the vibe for 3 months now and have only had good experiences with the vehicle. The car was to be my commuter vehicle, but my spouse fell in love with it and now I only drive it on the weekends. The car has plenty of power and is fun to drive. It has a smooth ride at all speeds. The interior is very useful with all the seating/cargo configurations available.

I tell ya I was a little sceptical of buying another american car but I figured since its basically a Toyota we couldnt go wrong. Ive really come to enjoy all of the great features of the car. 15000 mls later and absolutely no problems!

  • 03 Vibe Reflections After Two Years - 2003 Pontiac Vibe

Leased my Vibe shortly after they became available. The sporty looks and cross-over concept were what attracted me. Interior ergonomics are right on. Drivers seating is perfect. Cargo capacity is surprisingly large. Mileage is excellent, low 30s for my daily commute. Ride, handling, and brakes are great. A disappointment has been the 200 watt stereo. The door speakers rattle. In 30,000 miles, my Vibe has had no mechanical problems. A few minor glitches in the first year were probably "new model" type problems. Buy a Vibe! It has the right mix of cool style, features, and value.

now have 38k on it, great gas milage, comfortable, versatile, economical, reliable, cute. After nearly 2 years and 38k mile, only issue is the storage compartment under transmission shifter, a little duct tape on pivot point tightened it up, now no worries! NO TRIPS to dealer for repairs/adjustments.

Great cross-over for the money, lots of fun to drive, handles very well, very good braking system and well built! Fuel efficient, nice int. and ext. styling. The kids can get in and out of the vehicule with ease in the rear seating area.

I bought this car when I lived in Texas and was attending college in Pennsylvania. I went from a Corolla (which I loved) and wanted something with much more people and cargo space without compromising fuel efficiency. With this car being built by Toyota, it finished my decision. We have had no problems with it whatsoever and it now has 96,000 miles on it!!!
