Overview & Reviews
The Vibe is an all-new model in Pontiac's lineup designed to combine the best attributes of an SUV, a station wagon and a small van. Thankfully, the result is rather attractive and hip, not to mention utilitarian.
- Crisp handling, unique features, utilitarian design.

Enjoying the fuel mileage - 2003 Pontiac Vibe
By Pontiac Man - January 6 - 10:00 amI tried Matrix and Vibe. Vibe seems to be a better value to me. We have the moon and tunes package. Radio sounds good, could care less about the moon roof. Getting 10 more miles to the gallon than the SUV I traded. Enjoying the extra pocket money.

Meets All Requirements - 2003 Pontiac Vibe
By z2im - December 30 - 10:00 amWhen looking to purchase a vehicle to replace a full size truck, I was interested in a smaller car w/ AWD, fuel economy, dependability, and satisfactory crash test results. The Pontiac Vibe satisfied all the requirements. My 93 AWD Vibe gets over 30 mi/gal. The 123HP of the 1.8 liter engine in the AWD model is a bit underpowered but, being a joint venture w/ Toyota (see Toyota Matrix), I expect the powertrain to be dependable. The crash results were better than any other car of its size. The comfortable and spacious interior and stylish exterior finalized my decision.

Absolutely love my Vibe! - 2003 Pontiac Vibe
By Kira - December 24 - 4:23 pmI now have 161,000 miles & still drive it everyday. Been to Florida & Wisconsin several times, never any problems. Great gas 34mpg hwy. Replaced battery, brakes, tires only. Hit a deer $4000 damage to front end, it stopped in a straight line, no-one injured except dead deer, was amazed. Only problem Ive had is the gas door broke off at hinges recently. I would buy this car again today if I could. So much storage space. I have slept comfortably overnight in this car many times because you can fold the seats down flat & make a bed on top. There was a recall on front side windows for loose bolt replacement, work completed for free, no problems since. No recall on gas door yet,I reported it.

Nice Little American Rice Burner - 2003 Pontiac Vibe
By Iroc1 - December 24 - 2:00 amI bought the Vibe solely because it is a re-badged Toyota Matrix, and it has not let me down. The gas mileage average is about 20/26 (city/hwy)on 93 octane (even though the manual recommends 87, I get better mileage on 93). The ride quality is comfortable, especially on the highway, but There are minor creaks and rattles emanating from the rear of the car when driving over potholes or expansion joints. The engine is a bit sluggish, for my taste, but a K & N air filter and a cool air scoop have added some welcome ponies to my stable (I couldnt get the GT because Pontiac does not offer it with an automatic, and I am not the only driver in my household).

Great Vehicle!!! - 2003 Pontiac Vibe
By Ron - December 12 - 11:23 amI inherited my 2003 Vibe from elderly parents who no longer drive. I am extremely happy with this vehicle and would buy another in a heartbeat. Fuel economy is consistently in the low 30s which is remarkable since I regularly drive it 75-80 mph on the Illinois Tollway. I recently had a near collision with a deer and was extemely impressed with the braking and stability in my avoidance maneuver! The basic Vibe seems to handle well in the snow considering I do not have the AWD version. Since the wagon is essentially a Toyota in a GM skin the reliability is supreme. As gas prices head skyward the Vibe is a outstanding option to purchasing an expensive hybrid. Buy one!!!!

pontiac vibe - 2003 Pontiac Vibe
By robin - November 24 - 10:00 amI love the car but the seats and dashboard get dirty quick. It is hard to keep clean. The trunk doesnt come with a rug and your stuff slides all over the back.

No fun in mountains, MPG false - 2003 Pontiac Vibe
By Denver Driver - November 23 - 5:36 amWe got the AWD Vibe to take to the mountains but it is way underpowered and the AWD version doesnt come in manual transmission to help. Transmission actually feels like it slips when going up long hill, feels like someone has rear ended the car. Also we get about 22 MPG, Hwy or city. Other than that, the car is fine, roomy, I really like the air vents as they fully close.

Won over - 2003 Pontiac Vibe
By G Mundy - October 20 - 11:00 amThis Was the first American car i have purchased in 15 years. After owning this car for several years I am happy to see that American manufacturers are getting it right again. The Vibe has been trouble free and a joy to drive. I am ready to trade this one in for a newer model and will be getting another Vibe here shortly.
