This Year's Model Updates:

For the 2007 Pontiac G6, there are substantial under-the-skin changes. The GTP version, which is now offered as a coupe or sedan only, is powerful this year, thanks to a new, all-aluminum 3.6-liter V6 with variable valve timing. The engine produces 252 horsepower and is matched to a new six-speed automatic transmission. The engine in last year's GTP, a 3.9-liter V6, is now an upgrade option for the GT trim. Pontiac has also increased the output for the GT's standard 3.5-liter V6 by 23 hp this year (16 hp for convertible models). Other G6 changes for 2007 include expanded availability of side curtain airbags, hydraulic power steering for GT models (versus the former numb-feeling electric power setup) and a couple of new sport- and luxury-themed packages.

Pros:
  • Spacious rear seat, peppy yet fuel-efficient V6 engines, sporty suspension tuning, retractable hardtop in convertible model, available panoramic sunroof in sedan.
Cons:
  • Some low-grade interior plastics, numb electric steering in base sedan, panoramic sunroof eats up rear-seat headroom.

  • Just Dont Know - 2007 Pontiac G6

I had to have my steering lubed up the first day I got it. Then I had to get the rotors turned. Now I have an antifreeze leak. I got rid of my old Pontiac because it was just having too many problems. Granted it had 150,000 miles on it. But this one is giving me headaches. One problem after another. Im also having problems with the visors coming out. I would do more homework next time before buying any car.

The review is actually for a Canadian version of Pontiac G6 SE with Performance Package (3.5L 224-hp V6, hydraulic steering, fog lights; ABS, curtain-side airbags come standard). Purchased just a month ago, and I still cant get over a very competent sporty ride, solid build, just the right suspension, firm cornering, and loads of torque for sudden acceleration. Very roomy too, and all controls are nicely placed. The car is a pleasure to look at and a joy to drive!

I do love my G6. The handling is great, love the way the steering feels. My complaint seems to be an isolated one, but I have had mine in for repair over 10 times. The SES light keeps coming on. Doesnt seem to drive differently when it does, just annoying. GM has not been cooperative. I suggest going with an auto make who cares more about their customers.

  • Fun to drive Great car - 2007 Pontiac G6

This is our first new car and we are very satisfied. I love the inside and outside of this vehicle. Its sporty yet great for small family. I think the interieor is awesome and I love the chrome around the speedometer. Great stereo system and the message center is helpful. A couple of downfalls. I thought it would be alittle better on gas and very tight when making a U- turn. I also agree truck opening could be alittle bigger but that would obviously change the outer look. I can fit my stroller and a few other items in. Other than that I would recommend this car and the price was exactly what we wanted. Very good deal.

  • Fun, and what a deal - 2007 Pontiac G6

I love this car. The top has never been a problem. The styling is unique to the convertible, and the techno- hard-top convertible is such an awesome aspect to this car. When the top is up, and the windows down, voila. a true pilarless hard-top coupe! It is quick, smooth. The interior 4-place bucket seating is so cool, and so rare these days. And, the car is big enough to seat four adults comfortably. My quibble is that there is no Ipod port and no built-in blue-tooth. I will solve those issues on my own though, and they are solvable. I bought mine used with 6K miles on it 6 months ago. At $20K, I thought it was a steal. I have never regretted getting it.

  • Smaller Car, More Action - 2007 Pontiac G6

I recently went down in size on my cars, having previously driven a full-sized vehicle. I was afraid that moving to a small sporty car would be a negative experience, but instead it has been incredibly fun. I live in a rainy, rainy state, so the idea of a convertible is foreign to many here, but the hardtop is perfect in that I get all the protection from the elements I need and the removable top I wanted. I love this car, first day I got more looks from the local college girls than I do on my motorcycle, which cost about twice as much.

  • Not even in the market for a new car! - 2007 Pontiac G6

It was a dark and stormy night....reallly! Not a fit night to be out, but we couldnt resist test driving the 2007 Pontiac G6 GT convertible. It handled so well in the rain. Who knew a convertible could be so quiet? Now the only test, was to wait for the rain to stop and drive with the top down. It was a cool 58 degrees, but with the heated seats and a bit of feet heat, we were in heaven. Style, Comfort, Handling, Sporty, enough get up and go without being a gas hog. SOLD! Loving every minute.

Pricing very fair, good incentives with pontiac, wish there was a classier interior look on dash, good acceleration with slightly bigger engine, like the front grill appearance.

  • Great car, good ride - 2007 Pontiac G6

Car is very easy to get in and out. Seats are great, one of the best seats that I have sat in. 3.9 liter motor runs very well. Top works great. Best of all it does not have a dollar sign on the hood i.e. benz, bmw, lexas, Volvo ect. For the money great buy in my book.

I love this car. I did a lot of research before making this purchase, and drove a lot of cars. The G6 was fun to drive, had sharp steering, and was powerful. It has an excellent turning radius, and I love the styling. Im very happy with the purchase.
