This Year's Model Updates:

For the 2007 Pontiac G6, there are substantial under-the-skin changes. The GTP version, which is now offered as a coupe or sedan only, is powerful this year, thanks to a new, all-aluminum 3.6-liter V6 with variable valve timing. The engine produces 252 horsepower and is matched to a new six-speed automatic transmission. The engine in last year's GTP, a 3.9-liter V6, is now an upgrade option for the GT trim. Pontiac has also increased the output for the GT's standard 3.5-liter V6 by 23 hp this year (16 hp for convertible models). Other G6 changes for 2007 include expanded availability of side curtain airbags, hydraulic power steering for GT models (versus the former numb-feeling electric power setup) and a couple of new sport- and luxury-themed packages.

Pros:
  • Spacious rear seat, peppy yet fuel-efficient V6 engines, sporty suspension tuning, retractable hardtop in convertible model, available panoramic sunroof in sedan.
Cons:
  • Some low-grade interior plastics, numb electric steering in base sedan, panoramic sunroof eats up rear-seat headroom.

  • Love my Pontiac! - 2007 Pontiac G6

I absolutely love my G6! I recently moved from the north, and when I bought it over a year ago, barely anyone owned this car. Now having moved to south, I see more people with it, but I still feel good driving mine. This was my fourth car in less than 3 years, and I love it the best! Like another person said, this is the first car I am not sick of driving within the first few months. I love the design because its sleek and smooth. I would not trade this car in for anything, and I can not wait to see how the G6 evolves over the next few years.

I have owned the car for a few weeks now and everything seems to be fine. I do a lot of Highway driving so gas mileage has been good just like my previous car and it is more comfortable that my Toyota Camry which I found extremely surprising. As far as the interior it looks like cheap plastic but like most other cars in the same class and I am not rough on my cars so it should last a long time. If you live in a hot & sunny area I would suggest buying an $8 magic sun-shade due to the fact the dash board is Foam like plastic and you would not want your dashboard to crack. Other than that I am pretty impressed for this is my first brand new car I have ever owned.

We are extremely happy with our purcahse. No problems with the top, works perfectly every time. The car is a great cruiser, it is not a sports car. Power is adequate, the car is heavy at 3800 lbs, has good ride with minimal body shake and seats are very comfortable. The car is extremely quiet with the top up and with the top down conversations can be had without yelling. The car is gorgeous with the top down and looks just like the coupe with the top up. Every time we take the car out we receive compliments on its looks. The only issue we had was the door striker was misaligned, but the dealer took care of that in 30 minutes. We would highly recommend the car.

The hardtop, convertible sold me on the car as well as the looks of the car.Driving the car I found it to be very "tight".I could not hear any squeaks as I went over bumps. The steering wheel is a little"tight" but once you realize this it is easy to overcome when turning the wheel.I like the car and the style. Im glad I purchased it.

  • Sorry you guys have problems - 2007 Pontiac G6

Ive had mine for going on two years now and Ive put over 45k on it. Thing runs like a top. No problems with the panoramic sunroof. I get great mileage for a 6-cyl on the highway. City is not so great but I recently went on a 1500+ mile road trip and was getting 30+ mpg, thought the computer might be broke so I figured it out myself and I wasnt dreaming. Handles great and is smooth and reliable in these New England winters.

  • Fun To Drive - 2007 Pontiac G6

Coming from a Saab, this car is fun to drive, top up or down. After some minor rattle repairs, very quiet and smooth ride.

This car is one smooth ride. During the winter with my heated seats on I could probably fall asleep while driving it if I didn’t have my nice loud factory speakers going. I have friends who always say they dislike American cars but they sit and ride in the G6 and they change their mind. Panoramic sunroof is real nice, it’s huge! I haven’t any problems with it in 6 months. Besides gas mileage and few minor things it’s a great buy!

It seems like this will be a good car. Im typically a Mopar guy, but the fact that this is one of the few sedans with a V6/manual transmission is the reason I bought it. Only complaints are the gas mileage is lower than expected (19.5 city), but hopefully itll improve as the engine breaks in and the interior scuffs easily. Not impressed with XM radio, my friends Sirius seems much better. The car is comfortable, rides smooth, and fairly quit. Over all pretty solid.

  • Great car for 10,000 - 2007 Pontiac G6

I have to say this is a great car for the price, 1 year ago you couldnt buy a new car like this for 10,000 I have to say thanks to the economy for my great deal! Drives great in the snow! Lots of room in the back seat and trunk! Everyone who sits in my car can not believe how comfortable it is, and it can go! Gas is not great but hey the cost of gas is no longer at $4 a gallon! My next purchase will be the G8. GM has made a great car!
