This Year's Model Updates:

For the 2006 Nissan Titan, SE crew cabs can be ordered with a sunroof, and the LE trim now comes with two new features: standard dual-zone climate control and upgraded side mirrors that have heat, power-fold, auto-dimming and turn signal capability. Other updates for the Nissan truck include MP3-compatible audio systems and a change to allow the stability control system to be ordered with the locking rear differential.

Pros:
  • One of the best drivetrains in its class, smooth-riding suspension, spacious and functional cabin, innovative design features, available stability control and side airbags.
Cons:
  • Limited drivetrain and body style choices, no heavy-duty models, burly exhaust note can get annoying on long drives.

I did my background before buying. Im happy with the vehicle. Great power. I having better results with gas mileage that has been reported. Try synthetic oil, mobile1. I get 15.0 In town and 19.7 On the highway. This is with about 3600 miles on the truck. Quiet ride. I also have a fiber glass topper which helps with the mileage.

Has plenty of pickup and can outmuscle most cars and trucks on the road and is very agile for such a large pickup. Body design is a plus. An eye-catcher. Most people think the Titan was made in Japan. But they are suprised when informed that the Titan was designed in California, built in Mississippi, and the motor was made in Tennesee. How American can a truck get? Wonder if some of the American made trucks can say the same thing?

As most people, I do spend some time on the highway, but as a forester, this truck sees substantial 4-wheel drive time. This ranges from 6-18" of "old- growth" dust on most of our haul roads in August to driving on 12-24" of fresh snow in December. After driving about 7,000 miles, this truck is getting between 12-16 mpg, but I consider that pretty fair after 3/4-ton GMC & Ford 4x4s getting between 10-13 mpg. Truck has plenty of power, but a transmission that shifts down two gears at the slightest nod to want to pass someone on the highway ...trying to get used to this! Annoying factors include windshield wiper proximity to wheel, powertrain hum at 55+, poor A/C controls and poor 4x4 tires.

Im a Chevy man, but that Titan changed my thoughts. I got an 06 Titan, and cant wait to get up the next day to ride in style. I bought it in sept. 08 with 39,000 miles and could not leave it hanging. God blessed me with this truck because I thought I would never get one. I love the body style and engine performance. One main thing I love about it is that it sounds like it has dual exhaust when it doesnt. Its a gas drinker, but gas mileage is 99% better than my old 97 Chevy Tahoe!

Owned my 2006 Titan Crew cab LE 4x4 FFV since April 07 and am very satisfied. Love the smooth ride and power. Sometimes forget Im in a full size truck. Only had a problem with the radio going out out on me but the dealer replaced it. Looked at the F150 but found the rear seating more comfortable in the Titan (Important on long trips). Looked at the Tundra but to have it equipped like the Titan would have run up in the 45k area.

I recently purchased a boat that needed towing; before this, I have never purchased or wanted to purchase a truck. Now I am a proud and happy Titan owner. The powertrain and transmission are fantastic! The styling is the best out there!

Wow! Awesome truck! Blows away Ford, Chevy and Dodge. Handles like a sports car and has more than enough power. Love getting this truck on the open highway. Cruise at 85 miles an hour and only running 2000 rpm! Smooth and solid ride, quiet interior with nice V8 rumble. Interior well thought out and comfortable. No rattles or vibration at all. Plenty of room inside. Nissan did a great job with this truck. They have exceeded my expectations for a pickup. Very pleased thus far with purchase. Love watching the competition trying to catch me!

  • Good and Bad - 2006 Nissan Titan

Bought my 06 Titan in June 06. Have had it back to the dealer 6 times for small problems (windows, door handle problems for example). Problems seem to be fixed and love the truck otherwise. Great power, fun to drive and handles my 23 ft. camper so much better than my last Ford truck did. That five speed transmission is fantastic pulling a heavy load. My Ford couldnt do the highway speed limit and sounded like it would blow when it would downshift going up the smallest incline. The Titans five speed tranny handles the speed and inclines wonderfully and I couldnt be happier. Well, maybe with a few more miles per gallon. E85 fuel economy is brutal in this vehicle.
