  • Wise First Car Investment - 2006 Nissan Sentra

The 2006 Honda Sentra 1.8S is my very first car purchase and I have found that is was a great investment for a recent graduate just embarking on my careers course. For the money spent it is a wonderful combination of standard features and dependability. I love the keyless entry because many times after leaving work or leaving the grocery store, I do not have a hand free to unlock the door so being able to do so at the touch of a button is wonderful! The gas mileage is incredible and the handling is more sturdy than I anticipated. My friends, family, and co-workers all agree that I made a wise investment.

I bought this car new in July of 06. I drive 500 miles a week more or less and now have 235,500 miles on it. I did have a problem with the fuel pump and crankshaft sensor about a hundred thousand miles ago. It would start the second time every time for the longest while but eventually it worsened. I replaced a starter as a result Had a garage replace the fuel pump and it was better but got worse again. Finally took it to the dealer and got the crankshaft sensor replaced. I think its been a great little car. All the interior buttons still work and the air is cold still after 8 1/2 years. If it dies tomorrow, Id still think its a great little car. The most reliable car Ive ever had.

  • Good car to own - 2006 Nissan Sentra

It is a fun car to drive! its stylish with the spoiler, comfortable compare to honda civic, and relativly cheaper considering it comes with cd and ac for under $15000, roomy for a subcompact car, it is a nice car to own for daily commute with a great gas mileage.

  • good value - 2006 Nissan Sentra

This is a good value car. Yes, I would have preferred the handling of a Honda Civic, but with the Sentra, I got a reliable car, reasonable performance, and many, many toys (remote keyless entry, alloy wheels, 300W 7-speaker sound system, spoiler, etc.) for $5,000 less than the best price I could get on a base model Civic. The compromise - an older design due for an upgrade and average performance, including handling and fuel economy. Overall, I feel very good about my selection.

  • Decent for the money - 2006 Nissan Sentra

Maybe its the way I drive, but Im getting way better gas mileage than what the sticker says. It says 28C/34H. The computer inside says Im getting on average 38.1 MPG. NIIICE! Likewise, the similar 1.8L AT 2006 Corolla was rated at 32H/38H and I was averaging 38 MPG. What gives for the EPA Ratings??I regularly get 450 miles to a tank of gas. The cars engine has good pickup if I choose to slam on the gas. Sound system is great on the Special edition package.

  • 06 Sentra SE-R Spec V - 2006 Nissan Sentra

I bought a yellow SE R Spec V in February, I love how it stuck out in the lot. In fact, the day I bought it I got a speeding ticket. I love the car, its so much fun to drive. Doesnt go too well in the snow with those little tires but thats okay. Everything else works great and it has been very reliable. It would be nice to have audio controls on the steering wheel, and would like to have better gas mileage. Overall the car is excellent.

  • Special Edition Nissan Sentra - 2006 Nissan Sentra

This is a neat small car, with lots of extras for little extra money, e.g. Rockford Fosgate 9 speaker stereo, upgraded interior, fog lights, etc. It handles crisply with the new tires and wheels, and has decent acceleration. So far fuel econony has been great. My son has a Dakota Magnum and a Harley, yet still loves to drive the Sentra. Dealer support has also been excellent.

  • It worked but - 2006 Nissan Sentra

Bought this car used in 08 w/ 66k miles on it. Within 1st month, fuel injector pump needed to be replaced. Within 1st yr, 2 motor mounts needed to be replaced 3 times each to no fault of my own, leaving my mechanic puzzled. My mechanic says this car has lots of electrical problems. I bought this car because a friend had one that I loved but ended up being a better car for passenger. It didnt drive very well & the transmission didnt like to shift smoothly. Auto open trunk also stopped working for no apparent reason. I would have kept driving it if it wasnt totaled in an accident (to no fault of the Sentra, poor thing couldnt compete with an SUV!) The seat belts and airbags work great!

  • My best friend - 2006 Nissan Sentra
    By -

I have had the Sentra for little over a month now, and am absolutely pleased with my purchase. I was looking for a simple, yet comfortable car with fuel efficiency as the most important feature. I purchased a 1.8s and was able to get many more features than Id ever expected on my "college student" income. All the features are automatic, I have a manual transmission with cruise control (I love this feature), and the trip odometer has about 6 different displays that I cannot find in any of my friends cars. I use the MPG and dte displays most frequently. After 1300 miles, I am averaging just under 32 mpg in mixed driving conditions. This care is dependable, comfortable, and a great buy!
