  • Inexpensive but built cheaply... - 2006 Nissan Sentra

I own a 2006 Nissan Sentra 1.8 S Special Edition Pkg. I bought this car for $13,500 and there are obvious reasons why this car is priced under its competition. Although there are many features, build quality is suspect, the 1.8L engine is anemic and the suspension archaic. The seats are poorly designed and very uncomfortable if driving in excess of one-hour. The car does acheive respectable mileage and has a Rockford Fosgate 6 CD changer w/ 9 speakers. Power windows, power mirrors and an alarm system are included. This is an ideal car for a college student or someone on an extremely limited income. I would recommend driving a Honda Civic, Mazda 3 or Toyota Corolla before deciding.

  • Awesome Gas Mileage - 2006 Nissan Sentra

I have three words that describe my car "I love it." I purchased the 5- speed and it has pleanty of zip around town, the color is awesome (Blue) and I have the added spoiler on mine with the tinted windows. It amazes me how many people have complimented me on my new "cheap" car purchase and thier willingness to share their stories of driving their Sentras 100K +. I commute a 100 miles everyday so I am really appreciating the incredible gas mileage. I am averaging close to 35 mpg in mixed driving! Took it on a trip to Palm Springs and averaged just under 40 mpg! I find the car to be a great place to spend time, and find the cruise control to be right on.

Got the car in 2008 with 28,000 miles on it. These are the things that went wrong in the first month: Every rim was bent or warped, glove box fell out, muffler pipe needed to be replaced, bad battery, the window regulators were obviously starting to fail, and, most importantly, the car does not want to start in hot weather. This last reason is a mountain of a problem because, even though we went through with an extended warranty, the dealership cant get the car to have start up issues. Either thats my luck or theyre lying so they dont have to fix it, despite the fact that I know its the fuel pump. They wont fix it under warranty unless they can "diagnose" it. Nissan is trash.

Had to have the fuel pump replaced after one year. Now at 4 years needs replacing again.

  • fun - 2006 Nissan Sentra

i rented this car while mine was being fixed and it was REALLY fun to drive. the engine sounds great and handles pretty good. its ok on gas and accelerates really well. the interior looked cheap but was simple and served its purpose. it was a little small inside and i would pity a heavy person if they tried to drive it. the a/c was ice cold and the radio was decent. about three days into driving it the brake was making a squeaky noise but that was probley my fault.

  • Sentra is great! - 2006 Nissan Sentra

The 06 Sentra 1.8 S is a fun car to drive, good for a first time car owner. Good overall performance, very sporty. The Sentra also has the best brakes in its class, which lends for better performance. The Sentra is very easy to operate, the layout is awesome, everything inside the car is easily found.

4 years 50,000 miles later fast, fun, easy to drive. front seats are spacious and comfortable. very smooth ride.

  • Hope you dont mind replacing rims - 2006 Nissan Sentra

In the last two years I have spent $1100 to replace tires and rims. I bought two of these vehicles to save on fuel. The alloy rims and Firehawk tires are unfit for the road. I have replaced three rims and tires due to damage from normal driving, and recently found out a fourth needs to be replaced. I have owned 5 Sentras. These will be my last.

  • Great car - 2006 Nissan Sentra

Well since this is the second Nissan Sentra I have owned. I was not surprised by the car. The thing about the 2006 model is how quiet it is compared to the 1994 model. The doors and the whole car feels a lot stronger. The only thing I can see is they need to move the center console back 2" so the cup holders can hold a big cup without hitting the radio. With Edmunds I was able to get the best deal. Dealer was only going down to $15,500 but after telling them about Edmunds and the price I should be getting I got down to $14,790 with all the options. So now I have a 2006 Sentra Special Edition.
