the little engine that could - 2004 Nissan Sentra
By brianna - January 27 - 1:12 amthere is nothing flashy about this car, so if you are looking for something more than standard, you should look for something else. My 2004 Nissan Sentra has been a godsend as far as reliability goes though. I bought this car from my parents when I was in college, and I am still driving it today. My parents bought it brand-new in 2004, and although it has had a handful of fixes over the years, it has remained steady. This car now has over 220,000 miles on it, and every time I bring it into the shop for its oil change, I think that they will tell me its on its last leg, but they always say quite the opposite. I always get a good report with this car, and they tell me that they think it will keep going for more miles! Good job, Nissan!

Its got a lot of pick up so for those of you who want something with power, this is your car! Its great that its a four door because you get a powerful sports car without having to pay sports car insurance.

Ownership >1yr - 2004 Nissan Sentra
By Ownership >1yr - October 27 - 10:10 amAfter about 14 months of owning one, its still a fun car. Positives,... powerful engine, agile reflexes, sporty, economical, relatively good mpgs, reliable. Negatives, and a BIG negative for me, the 6 speed transmission is god awful to shift. Rarely will it slide effortlessly into gear. While not cramped, not as roomy as a Focus sedan by comparison. Ride is harsh, way too stiff for daily commuting. Yes, I know, should have gotten a lesser trim level. Other negatives, Rockford Fosgate stereo package not worth its cost. Also, intermittant wipers not adjustable enough. Another negative, A/C isnt quite as cold as a Ford Focus either. All in all, like the car for what I paid for it.

Not a typical entry-level model! - 2004 Nissan Sentra
By ScottinRKE - September 16 - 2:00 amThis was my 4th Nissan (1 Sentra and 2 Altimas). I made the mistake of buying the 02 Altima when it 1st came out, and had nothing but problems. While at the dealership (where it had been towed again) I saw the Sentra. The interior was far nicer - though smaller, had the same engine, and the price was right. Bought it on the spot. While not as attention getting as the Altima, it feels much more solidly built, and has standard options (ABS, side-impact SRS, trip computer) that I have never had. Very underrated car!

Needs to be more sturdy - 2004 Nissan Sentra
By SgtBrownswife - May 9 - 10:33 pmI loved my Sentra when I first got it a couple years ago. We are military so we are constantly making long trips to see family on leave days and we got around 50 mpg. My husband had a wreck in the car last week and it totalled the Sentra but left the other vehicle hardly untouched.
