I owned a 1994 Sentra, drove it 10 years, great car. Bought a new 2004 Sentra1.8s. The quality has decreased in this model compared to my old Sentra. Ive had to add power steering fluid since it was new and after switching from defrost to vent the AC stays on. Dealership is replacing part for power steering problem and they say Nissan is aware of the AC problem and havent come up with a solution yet. In the meantime I am burning extra fuel. the AC will cut off after restarting the engine. I expected a little more fuel mileage but I am happy with the power and automatic transmission.

  • Starter Issues - 2004 Nissan Sentra

I hate this car. I have had starter problems with it from the start. Nissan says they dont see a problem. I go to start it this morning, and it didnt start. The car is really tight. I got this before I had a baby, and now his car seat barely fits in the back. The passenger has to sit in the dashboard (which is very dangerous). I dont find this car safe at all. Plus, it barely holds the stoller in the trunk. I have no room for groceries. And my gears seem to stick when I take it from Park to Drive. This car is nothing but a problem. Seems too cheap.

Nissan has lost its reliability and will not stand beside the customer. 5 years of listening to a sqeeling serpentine belt, tough to re-start after the car has been drivin... Tough to start when the car is cold and now my headgasket is blown with 59,000 miles on it. Now im finding out that there are Major problems with headgasket failure and Nissan is ignoring it. Ive owned 3 nissans over the years and anything over a 2002 is gonna break your pocketbook. Sorry Nissan but it reminds me of a washed up prize fighter who once stood tall and then took a great fall.

Have had gas issues, were it wouldnt take gas, just spit it back out.Bought my car with 22 miles on it, and so far so good. It is a 2004 and has 54,000 miles on it.So far just the gas issues and it does take 2-3 times to start most of the time. It is a reliable car, drove back and forth from Pa to Vegas and it is great. Very good on gas.

  • What a disappointment - 2004 Nissan Sentra

Why was this car my first ever lemon Ive ever owned. Let me just say I had to replace the front left bearing 4 times. Thats right 4 times and Nissan treated me like a you know what. Lets just say the regional manager says she called me 3 times and never did. Be careful buying this cars. You need to fuel the car with 91 octane or better. There is no 40/60 split. The tail rattles after taking the abuse of the NYC streets. Do not replace the tranny fluid. I had to replace the tranny. When everything was working properly, the car was amazing to drive, great performance drives amazing for a FWD car. I will miss the 6-speed tranny. Watch out for Nissans customer service, its bad.

60,000 miles and transmission howls, car is hard to start, exhaust system falling apart, air conditioning vents not working properly, struts going bad, loud popping noise from motor mount area, brake rotor warped (and this is a cold climate) and car makes allot of road noise. This is the worst car I ever had and I have owned over two dozen cars. I will never buy another "MADE IN MEXICO" car in my life.

  • So good so far - 2004 Nissan Sentra

Was looking for a newer car with good gas mileage. Choose the Sentra beacuse we have had several Nisson cars, one a 92 Stanza, that have been reliable. Average mileage so far (5550 miles) has been near 35 on long trips, including with A/C going.

My car has 40000 miles and I am disapointed with the resistance of some of the materials: - The steering wheel has started to change color. When I contacted Nissan to get a new steering wheel, they told me that I was driving with rings in my hand, which I dont. - The carpet is worn out. Come on, its my fourth car and I never saw that before. - The paint is definately too fragile.

I have had my car in the service center 3 times the first month for a problem which was claimed to be "par for all sentras." the problem still hasnt been identified and fixed. I have filed a complaint with Nissan under the "LEMON LAW" I am not pleased with this car and the mechanics representing Nissan! Would you?????

I bought this car with 170K on it. everything is still good, but the starter is hard to start. I have a friend who drives the same car and they have the same problem. Im not sure if this problem only exist in nissan sentras or other nissan as well. This is my first car so i dont really find it annoying. However, i will NEVER buy this car again and i do not recommend anyone to buy it.
