This Year's Model Updates:

After a model-year hiatus, the 2009 Nissan Murano returns fully redesigned. Given its popularity, styling changes are kept evolutionary, while an upgraded cabin and key mechanical refinements further its appeal.

Pros:
  • Responsive powertrain, sporty handling and smooth ride, luxurious cabin in LE trim.
Cons:
  • Cargo space behind second row a few cubes shy of some rivals, compromised rear visibility.

  • Love the 2009!! - 2009 Nissan Murano

I love driving the 2009 Murano. Had test drove the Infiniti FX35 loved the car but husband wanted me to check out the 2009 Murano and I loved it and bought it the same day. I did not compromise anything with the purchase.

  • Uncomfortable Road Trip - 2009 Nissan Murano
    By -

I purchased this vehicle 11/08. I have owned 3 other Nissan vehicles and I have enjoyed driving them. The 2009 Murano has been a huge disappointment. I recently took this vehicle on a 6 hour road trip and I was actually in pain when I arrived at my destination. The drivers seat is rock hard and has very little leg and back support. If you have leg and back problems, please think twice before purchasing this vehicle.

  • Nice vehicle - 2009 Nissan Murano

A lot of fun to drive. Enjoy the height on the road. Nice acceleration in difficult situations.

  • Automotive engineering at its best - 2009 Nissan Murano

Since 1970, have driven or owned almost every Nissan-Datsun product ever built. The 09 Murano is a first for me and tho experience is yet short, this is probably about as good as any driving experience is ever going to get for present industry standards, period. Relentless comparisons and long time experience keeps me coming back to Nissan. Note some who complain about body roll -- those should realize that Nissan could provide perfectly flat cornering, but then a lot of weak or inexperienced drivers would find out (upside down in the ditch), that tires do not stay permanently glued to the pavement. Some body roll lets you know that you are approaching the adhesion limits of your tires.

  • Blown head gasket at 20,000 - 2009 Nissan Murano
    By -

The head gasket went with just under 20,000 miles. That is something that should last 200,000 miles. Nissan village fixed it under warranty and 2 days later it had to be towed in because almost all the oil leaked out all over my new garage floor because one of the gaskets was improperly installed. Then it had to go back in again because of check engine light. It was the oxygen sensor. This is my fourth Nissan and I will never buy another.

  • An Acceptable Vehicle - 2009 Nissan Murano

Overall, this is a fine vehicle that has, in my opinion, two design faults. The navigation screen needs to face the driver more and be more protected from the sun as on the 09 Maxima. The navigation screen is almost worthless when the sun is at certain angles. The second fault is with the dual moon roof which is also on the 09 Maxima equipped with the premium package. With no moon roof wind deflector presently available, this vehicle is, with out a doubt, the noisiest vehicle I have ever owned or had the opportunity to ride in my 60+ years. (My moon roof comment only applies to models equipped with a dual moon roof.) I have contacted Nissan about the problem, but that was a waste of time.

  • AWESOME MURANO - 2009 Nissan Murano
    By -

Ive had this crossover about 4 months, & I love driving it. Its my first Nissan. This baby will move. I get good performance with regular, but even better with premium. The back-up camera, xm radio, auto rear lift-gate, leather seats, HID lights, driving position, & did I mention build-quality certainly makes this a luxury crossover. I bought it primarily for its unique style, & black on black color.

  • 2009 Murano Lease - 2009 Nissan Murano

Although Nissan recommends premium fuel, we have always used regular and still get excellent acceleration and as stated on the sticker gas mileage. The computer seems to adjust for the different fuel grade very well. I would have rated interior comfort a 10, but the seats need some fine tuning. Coming from an Altima, the seats feel awkward. The CVT transmission seems flawless. Its so nice not to have annoying shift points!

  • My first Nissan - 2009 Nissan Murano

Previously had BMWs. Still have one. Needed more cargo space but full size SUVs just too large for me so crossovers got my attention. I researched & drove the Lexus, BMW, Acura, Infiniti crossovers then just stumbled across the Murano on the web, read up on them & had 2 test drives. Decided not to throw money away on other vehicles that were not as good as the Murano when it came to features, power, driving pleasure, and comfort. Got the tech, premium, leather, & dual moonroof options. Already had a portable nav system so passed on theirs. After 1,500 miles I am very happy with the car. Makes for a relaxing commute. Getting 20-21 mpg in rush hour/city driving. Nissan got this one right!

  • 2nd Murano - Just got the 2009 Version - 2009 Nissan Murano
    By -

I just took ownership of a 2009 Murano- SL AWD. This is my second Murano previous one was a 2006 SL FWD. At first drive, I actually like this Murano better than the 2006. Though I will miss the adjustable pedals. I like the new dash, a little more traditional than the 2006. quality is excellent! The Bose system is better in the 2009 than the 2006. THis is very important to me, Im in the profession.THe 2009 is way less muddy sounding, crisper highs. Driving feels even better, and I loved the 2006. I never had mechanical issues with the first, I hope the second is just as good, if not better. Great job, Nissan.
