The Maxima has been fully redesigned for 2004. It now rides on the same underpinnings as the well-received Nissan Altima. This year's Maxima is longer, wider and more powerful than the previous version.
- Roomy interior, lots of upscale options, sweet V6, available with a manual transmission.

By willie22970 - October 16 - 10:00 ami have just purchased a new maxima...it if wonderful...speed yes, handling great...i did not get the upgraded sound system...the basic is fine, i am really enjoying the car.. ironically it is the first car that people stop and ask me about it..high tech styling...and comfort...i have owned mercedes and bmw...a much better value in the maxima....i even got prferred parking at a very niice club the other night...the valets loved it...

By pat - October 14 - 10:00 amI was very surprised by some of the negative reviews I read because this has not been my experience at all. I have never had any problems with the car itself and love driving it and riding in it. It has beautiful styling, rides very comfortably, and has great power which is so important in metropolitan areas where one must accelerate on to highways.Fuel economy on the highway can go as high as 32 mpg with correct fuel but is lower around town 21 mpg .

Makes you feel young again - 2004 Nissan Maxima
By JNorth - October 10 - 2:00 amAfter 3000 miles I find my Nissan Maxima a joy to drive. It accelerates like no other car I have ever driven. Hardly a day goes by that someone doesnt comment "Nice Car". What are the negatives? Some small details I would like to see changed. l. I like my ignition key on the steering column rather than on the dash. I like the door handles flush, pull outs, rather than the extended handles. I would like some place in front for a trash receptical. And, I dont like having to use premium gas. But you cant have everything.

By RALPH - October 10 - 2:00 amI find that the wheels are made too big for this vehicle the high perfomance tires will not be good on roads when wet or snow exists. Tight wheel base when you go over a bump in the road the steering wheel moves you may lose control

Fun and Luxurious - 2004 Nissan Maxima
By LAYNE - October 10 - 2:00 amMy Maxima is fun to drive and accelerates quickly. The AC and heater are a major improvement over the Bonneville I formerly had. The leather interior is attractive and comfortable. I had a security problem starting the engine one morning. Im still not sure what caused it. Possibly a key transponder problem.
