Worst car we ever owned - 2008 Nissan Altima
By hubiedo - March 11 - 3:53 pmIt is terribly uncomfortable on long trips as the seats do not have a lower back support. Poor interior design with the parking brake so close to the brake. We continue to have problems with the front brakes (replaced 2x) and shimmy when applied. The motor surges when accelerating from a stop. Rear antenna or wiring continually is causing bad radio reception and cd playing to skip on the cds. We believe it is the wiring connection and have replaced the cd player 2x. Local radio stations will not play more than 15 miles from town.

Great Car - 2008 Nissan Altima
By Craig C - March 4 - 7:56 pmThe Altima coupe is a great car. It is a very attractive car from all angles and the ride lives up to the looks. The 2.5 engine produces enough power for quick accelerations and passing on the highway. The interior is well thought out and the quality of materials used is top notch. With the premium package, I have the same features, Bluetooth, leather, heated seats, power driver seat, sunroof, steering wheel controls, Bose stereo system and XM radio that my friend has in his BMW 3 series which cost $20,000 more. The overall build quality is very good on the car both inside and out. The rear seats are not huge but are large enough for two adults to sit comfortably for shorter trips.

My thoughts - 2008 Nissan Altima
By lazywaste - February 8 - 6:23 pmThis is an awesome car, it rivals cars that cost 20-30,000 dollars more, trust me I drove them all. It needs a smoother ride and the drivers side blind spot to be fixed, in addition at 510" I feel as though I am too short for the car and as if I am below the sweet spot looking out. All told its a great car and with a few minor adjustments it would be great, Im very satisfied with it.

Just bought 08 Altima SL with 10K miles - 2008 Nissan Altima
By utlax18 - December 31 - 7:46 pmJust bought a used 08 Altima SL with 10K miles. I like the sportiness of the car and the interior. Averaging 25.1 overall mileage (per the trip computer) and drive primarily in the city. Only issue I am having is a slight "lifter" noise which I have researched and they say it is a "timing chain tensioner" issue. Will take it in a week or so for the dealer to look at it. If I didnt have this issue, I would rate it a 9.

The coupe - 2008 Nissan Altima
By thegooddr - December 30 - 12:46 pmI got 2.5 with CVT and convenience pkg. Great power, excellent ride, handles well, and gorgeous. The car is better than I expected. I got it for style, but it is also a great ride. Economy, according to the computer is 23 around the city, and will go over 400 miles on a tank. Only an economy car will do that.

Nissan got it right - 2008 Nissan Altima
By Tobyboy - December 18 - 5:46 amLet me start off by saying I love cars and have many, many cars. My favorite vehicle prior to this purchase was my GS 300 Lexus. This Altima is now is my favorite car. It has it all, interior and exterior style, comfort, technology and gas economy. Nissan got it right! I started out wanting a 4 cylinder car that is not a crap box. Most manufacturers will make the 4 cylinder the stripped down model, with no leather, limited options, etc. Nissan approaches this market differently. They take the same vehicle that is available in the more pricey 6 cylinder and simply put a 4 cylinder in its place. This car is near perfect. Accelaration with the 4 is more than adequate.

What a surprise! - 2008 Nissan Altima
By Vanessa - December 17 - 2:20 amI had to buy a new car due to a bad accident in my Honda so I test drove many cars and the Altima came out on top! It drives so well, has nice standard features and is very roomy and comfortable. I had no idea how great this car really was! I am very happy with my purchase!

What a difference - 2008 Nissan Altima
By Jeff W - December 14 - 5:50 pmI recently purchased my 08 fully loaded V6 6Sp to replace my 350z, the quality of the car is a step up from the 350z which was priced higher when new. I also had a 2002 3.5 se 5 speed altima that I loved and this car is 400x better in every way. The feel, the quality of the materials, the options make this car a rich car for the money. The altima handles great and is plenty fast with bluetooth, navi, backup camera to satisfy my tech cravings. All in all I am extremely pleased with the car, although I miss the sweet purr of the 350z exhaust, but thats fixed easy.

Poor Mans Infiniti - 2008 Nissan Altima
By Mufasa - November 25 - 2:56 amI was ready to buy Accord, but felt I should at least drive an Altima. Wow. Internet pics dont do car justice. Very smooth, refined, and the cvt is so sweet and the sound system is solid. First tank of gas the mileage was not that good, mainly because of my desire to get the know the power of those 270 horses. 2nd tank of gas resulted in average of 26mpg -- which was 75% highway and 25% city. I know I am sacrificing 4-5mpg for v6 instead of v4, but I can live with it.

Hmm - 2008 Nissan Altima
By snowfish - November 12 - 10:56 amWell I have had the car for about 2 months now. There are a lot of things I like and some I dont. I traded in a fullsize truck for this car, so getting used to the smallness off the interior, and the low ground clearance has been tough. Also the lack of comfort and the road noise. I live in Alaska so some of the roads arent smooth. I do however like the gas mileage. I am getting a little more than 550 mi. On a tank. Thats mixed. The interior fabric is cheap ultra suede. Cannot be cleaned! I dont like the cheap plastic interior. For the price it should be much nicer. Am not totally happy with the car and find myself wishing for something else.
