This Year's Model Updates:

The 2006 Nissan 350Z sports car receives a host of minor changes. Mechanical updates include an increase in horsepower, to 300, for all manual-transmission-equipped cars, larger brake rotors for cars without the Brembo brake package and a new vehicle speed-sensitive steering rack. For the exterior, the Z sports a revised front bumper and new headlight and taillight designs. Eighteen-inch wheels and HID headlights are now standard on all models. Changes inside include new cloth seat material, revised climate controls and a new navigation system. Finally, Nissan has made some adjustments to the Z's trim levels. A Grand Touring trim level is now available for the coupe body style; it features the Touring trim's equipment plus Brembo brakes, spoilers and stability control. Additionally, the Track and Grand Touring trims get new RAYS super lightweight forged-alloy wheels that measure 18 inches in front and 19 out back.

Pros:
  • Strong and willing V6 engine, precision handling, powerful brakes, available drop-top version, a bargain compared to anything that can run with it.
Cons:
  • Rough ride on Track model, some low-grade interior materials, lack of luggage space, poor rearward visibility.

  • Great car and fun to drive - 2006 Nissan 350Z

The car is fun to drive and it definitely gets s lot of looks. Even though the car almost five years old it still has a great style. The engine sounds is awesome. I have had few problems with the car except for having to replace the convertible top becasue it was cracking. Fortunately that was under warranty. The other problem has been the tires and the air pressure indicators. I had to replace the tires at 24,000 miles ($1100). The tires are quite pricey. But the most bothersome item is the air pressure indicator. They seem to be on a lot. The dealer has replaced a few of them over the years. But they seem to be always going on and the dealer is the only one that can turn it off.

  • Fun But Flawed - Buyer Beware! - 2006 Nissan 350Z

Did lot of research before buying; knew oil consumption was an issue on some 06 Zs. Figured was worth risk, as Nissan warranty gave peace of mind. Thought was safe until Jan 2009, when car started making weird noises, suffered loss of power & oil pressure. Car serviced at dealer religiously, so service mgr determined engine needed to be replaced under recall. Took 2 weeks! In all car has been in shop more times than our Porsche & BMW combined! Issues included clutch assembly, brakes, electrical, trunk release, pass pwr window, TPMS, heat shield, wheel hub. Car has been kept at dealer days/weeks at a time at dealer, & no loaner car given, just shuttle. Thank God we have multiple cars!

  • Most Bang For the Buck - 2006 Nissan 350Z

This is my 2nd Z. My first was an 03 Enthusiast with the 5A. I couldnt stand the car. I had it only 6 months and sold it. I bought my 06 last August. Its the base model with the 6 speed manual. This is the most fun car Ive ever owned. Its a complete 180 from the 03. The exhaust note is amazing, gas mileage is awesome for a 300 hp car, and the reliability cant be beat. This is my weekend car, while my 07 Audi A4 is the daily driver. The Z gets a little bone-jarring after a while, but I always have a blast driving.

  • Rocking Red Sports Car - 2006 Nissan 350Z

Just picked this up on 11/4/06 and havent had the time to really put it thru the paces, but so far..... its an amazing machine to drive. Had to wait until it was found in Redline Enthusiast package, but well worth the wait... Traded up from a 2005 Altima SE-R and very glad I did !!!! I Loved That Car As Well !!! Mileage suffers a bit by comparison, but the extra performance balances out the extra $$ Overall, a very exciting vehicle to drive and likely the last one Ill ever need to get.... Go to your local Nissan dealer and check it out for yourself.... Youll be elated that you did...

  • Great Ride - 2006 Nissan 350Z

Bought my black on black Z six months ago and fell in love with it. With the top down riding in the sun other drivers roll down their windows to comment on the great looks of the car. Im over 6 foot and find it very comfortable. The ride is better than a friends Corvette and I found it more roomy then the Honda S2000. When driving on the interstate with the top down I can hold a conversation with a passenger without screaming. Handling is exceptional and performance top notch. I would recommend this car to anyone that enjoys the open road or just cruising.

  • Good Value car - 2006 Nissan 350Z

i get my Z two days ago. the performance is good. the interesting thing is, u will feel the true power when u shift to second gear. However, the interior shows a little disappointment and the luggage room is soooo small....i dont think U can pick up someone in airport with this car if the luggage is big. the shift gear seems little bit hard for me and the clutch seems too loose, it is unusual for performance. overall, its performance and appearance can cover most of the cons. the price is also reasonable for this car

I bought my Z about a week ago and absolutely love it. It looks awesome and drives even better. It handles like a dream. It doesnt have rocket like speed but it is fast enough. It turns heads wherever you go. I love the convertible.
