This Year's Model Updates:

The 2006 Nissan 350Z sports car receives a host of minor changes. Mechanical updates include an increase in horsepower, to 300, for all manual-transmission-equipped cars, larger brake rotors for cars without the Brembo brake package and a new vehicle speed-sensitive steering rack. For the exterior, the Z sports a revised front bumper and new headlight and taillight designs. Eighteen-inch wheels and HID headlights are now standard on all models. Changes inside include new cloth seat material, revised climate controls and a new navigation system. Finally, Nissan has made some adjustments to the Z's trim levels. A Grand Touring trim level is now available for the coupe body style; it features the Touring trim's equipment plus Brembo brakes, spoilers and stability control. Additionally, the Track and Grand Touring trims get new RAYS super lightweight forged-alloy wheels that measure 18 inches in front and 19 out back.

Pros:
  • Strong and willing V6 engine, precision handling, powerful brakes, available drop-top version, a bargain compared to anything that can run with it.
Cons:
  • Rough ride on Track model, some low-grade interior materials, lack of luggage space, poor rearward visibility.

  • Great fun car to drive - 2006 Nissan 350Z

I tried the SLK 280/350, Z4 and neither of these vehicles came close to the fun factor of owning the 350z. Shouldve purchased a 4 seater though to give more flexibility but thats the nature of the beast in purchasing a 2 seater.

Bought this car New Years Eve (yes, the dealership was open Sunday before the holiday). Performance/handling is great. Have to constantly look at the speedometer to check my speed. The car is that smooth. I can even fit my golf bag with a few pieces of soft luggage, no problem. Even though this is a performance sports car I get better mileage with the Z than my SUV. The only negative is the tires cant be rotated, and they are not cheap (18"front/19"rear).

  • Not an everyday car - 2006 Nissan 350Z

I inherited this car as my daily company car. Under normal circumstance I would have been ecstatic, but I commute 90 minutes one way to work 5 days a week. Im a little bigger then average person, so I am very uncomfortable the majority of the time. With all that being said...It is a great looking car and a head turner, but it’s not an every day car by any means. Im sure most would be saying that I shouldn’t be complaining about such a nice company car, but I went from a 4 door to a 2 door convertible with no room for storage. I have to go home everyday and pick up my personal car so that I can get my son from daycare. It’s just an add inconvenience all the way around.

Bought this car in March and LOVE it. It is very fun to drive, handles very well, and is FAST (shes seen 135 and wanted to go more!). The lines and intimidating body style makes this car a looker!

I own a fully restored mildly modified 1978 280Z that I have had for 23 years. I love how much the new Z is like the old one- only better.

  • this Z is amazing! - 2006 Nissan 350Z

I just recently purchased the enthusiast z coupe. I drive this thing everywhere. In three words I LOVE IT! It has a good powerband, it pulls in every gear, and it handles like a go-kart. I test drove alot of sports cars, (S2000, RSX-S, EVO, STI, M3). The styling, power, and the cost is what drew me to the Z. Well done nissan on a great sports car.

  • First Thoughts - 2006 Nissan 350Z

I have had this car only 3 months, but have taken it on a 2800 mile vacation to Nova Scotia. I found the performance to be great and have been pleasantly surprised by the fuel economy. The car was very comfortable throughout long drives and it sounds great. My only critisism (which I consider minor) is that the car should have an 8 way adjustable drivers power seat instead of the provided 4 way seat.

  • A Classy Car - 2006 Nissan 350Z

I purchased my Z after comparing it to BMW, Mercedes and Lexus. After driving each of the others, I returned to this vehicle for its comfort, performance and quick response. People constantly remark about its beauty. The trunk is remarkably large and easily can hold the golf clubs and suitcases. I love this car. It is by far my favorite of all.

  • Amazing Performance and Deal - 2006 Nissan 350Z

Ive driven many sports cars and this is my favorite ever. The Porsche Boxster has it beat a bit on handling, some muscle cars (such as the GTO) have more horsepower, and a few have more torque. But for ~$30k you get more from the 350Z in all those categories than you can in just one category from many cars that run $50k+. And its such a gorgeous car with a unique look. Pictures cant do it justice -- you have to see it to appreciate the look. I even like the interior a lot, which some seem to complain about. Its compfortable, well-laid out, the gauges move with the steering wheel tilt (first time Ive seen that), and the textured surfaces are both interesting and easy to clean.

Great car. Maintenance costs are very low. Brembo brakes are costly, but you only get what you pay for.
