This Year's Model Updates:

Although the Endeavor is an all-new vehicle for 2004, an upgraded 2004.5 model was released midway through the year to address some initial shortcomings. The list of upgrades includes more horsepower (225), daytime running lamps, advanced dual-stage front airbags and a tire-pressure monitor as standard. An improved ABS system (with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and traction control) is now available on LS 2WD models and standard on XLS 2WD and Limited 2WD. A full-size spare with alloy wheel and a towing prep package is now standard on LS AWD (optional LS 2WD) and XLS. Standard side-impact airbags for front-seat passengers have been added to the Endeavor XLS. Rounding out the 2004.5 changes are a handful of new options, including a rear-seat DVD entertainment system for XLS and Limited, and traction and stability control for the Limited AWD.

Pros:
  • Carlike ride, roomy seating front and rear, torquey V6 power plant, solid build and materials quality, good crash test scores.
Cons:
  • Less cargo capacity than the class leaders, polarizing interior design.

  • Best Buy for the Money! - 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor

We looked at the BMW, Lexus, Highlander, Pilot and Morano. This vehicle was bigger, better and stronger than the competition. Not to mention the price and deal Mitsubishi offers. The ride is very pleasant. Fun to drive. We get lots of people asking us on the road what type of vehicle this is. Lots of complements. We Absolutley Love it!

Quiet interior except when the sun roof is open, that creates a lot of interior noise/whistling sound. Difficulty adjusting the audio sound system. Cant always adjust the heater for comfortable heat in the winter time. Poorly designed windshield washer hose as it gets crimped underneath the hood when the hood has been opened and closed. There is a very large blind spot when using the side mirrors.

I owned a Toyota Landcruiser for 5+ years... hands down top SUV in terms of quality, capability. HOWEVER, rented the Endeavor when my car was in the shop, and I must have one. Quality feels like the Toyota, and ride is slightly better. From someone who has driven the best SUV, this is exactly what an SUV should feel like. At half the price.

While initially loved the truck, as time/mileage wears on, no after market parts available, so costly. Also, the need for Premium fuel. Dealer had stated could use regular at a loss of mileage-I guess with regular the best I get is 10-12mpg! Fuel filler set known by many mechanics to rot out, had back order for over 6 weeks, all the while spilling gas every time I tried to get it into the tank.

The Suv Feels like a powerful sports car. First time I stepped on the gas pedal I was pushed back in my seat. I was very amazed about the handeling, haveing much more a sedan feel than a lumbering SUV. It is nice to see Sport put back in the SUV.

The 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor offers the upbeat style and "family" realism that I needed and wanted all in one package. It drives smoothly and handles like a car. Many SUVs have blind spots that you have to be aware of. The Mitsubishi Endeavor has no such areas. With plenty of room for external awareness, it affords the opportunity to drive safely and comfortably. Buy it? I will own two Endeavors before I am done and I will KEEP them both. If you havent driven a Mitsubishi Endeavor, you havent driven an SUV.

Timing belt replacement dates. Fluid change maintenance records. Mine has 170,000 miles, runs quiet, smoothly, like new.

  • love this ride - 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor

I have owned my Endeavor for almost 2 years I love it. I would like a little more variety in option packages but it came nicely equiped. I think the site lines inside are 2nd to none and the ride is like a car.
