Two new trim levels, the R320 CDI and the R63 AMG, are available this year. The R320 CDI has a diesel-fueled engine for enhanced fuel economy, while the R63 AMG is modified for high performance and comes equipped with a 503-horsepower V8.
- Wide range of engine choices, seating for six, functions much like a luxury minivan but without the associated mommy-mobile stigma.
- Long and heavy rear doors, gasoline V6 is short on low-end torque, high price for glorified minivan functionality.

By Maria - November 3 - 10:53 pmI wanted to get a nice safe reliable car that had a lot of room but wasnt your typical "mom car" I had only seen a few of these so I wasnt sure about it. I test drove it and I loved it. Its spacious, its nice, safe and reliable.

By Philip Tworek - July 6 - 5:23 pmThis has got to be the best vehicle in its crossover class. For the growing family that wants the wagon but not the van you cant beat the R- class. Definitely buy with all the options, then you never look back and regret what you didnt get. The ride is very smooth and yet in the corners it handles pretty tight. The panoramic rooftop is for sure a thing of wonder. This is a definate purchase for the folks wanting great gas efficiency along with great looks and quality. Performs like a true diesel but if you put your foot on the gas there are some ponies under the hood to be discovered.

By Martha Pink - May 22 - 12:06 pmLove the comfort and drive of the R- Class. Especially highway driving. Enjoy the cruise controls. Love the better fuel mileage. Heavy car, little road nose. Comfort with four adults and two children. Very quiet engine, for a diesel, but powerful. Most people are surprised its a diesel, its so quiet. Would only own this car in a diesel, due to power and fuel mileage. Drives like a dream.

The Smoothest ride! - 2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class
By mb lover - February 3 - 12:50 amI love this car! This is my 2nd Mercedes. I Previously owned the M class and turned it in for this. I needed some convincing because of its van-like shape, but I drove it and had to get it in the Black it looks so much sportier! The front of the vehicle makes a bold statement. Its a definite head-turner or maybe its me. My R is by far the smoothest and heavy riding car I have ever owned with plenty of space.I love to drive it and it loves to drive. I could go on with the pros but you do need to drive one to feel the whole experience. I wish there were more standard options in this luxury crossover but hey, its a Mercedes!

By usarmy89delta - November 26 - 4:21 pmAfter reading some review Ive decided to write my own. In 2008 I bought for my spouse an R350 4Matic. We drove it and took it on trips all the time and never gave us any trouble (except a few blown lights) and eventually put close to 40k miles on it. On June 2010 my wife was driving in the city with both our kids when an elderly lady wich had a suspended licence drove right into her lane (she crashed head on). When I arrived I saw the car totalled but my wife and kids with out a scratch on. The cars crash alert system had been activated (it moved the drivers seat all the way forward, it moved the steering wheel, cut the engine and even placed the hazards lights on).

We had been looking at XC90, Pilot, Odyssey, X5, ML, etc. We werent planning on buying until the Spring or Summer, but after visiting the MB showroom we were so impressed by the R and the fantastic end of year incentives, we bought it. It costs me less per month than my G35 did! The R is wonderful and a perfect replacement for both my old cars. Home Depot trip? Drop all the seats and I have more room than in the jeep (I use a heavy duty blanket to protect). We love road trips and have big families. Perfect for long excursions. MB Safety. My family loves the R.

Not your mothers minivan! - 2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class
By jenlong - June 10 - 10:53 pmWeve been driving this beauty around for about a month and couldnt be happier. The R350 is a pleasure to look at, a pleasure to sit in and just plain fun. The kids love it, I love it and its just surpassed my every expectation...which were high. I come from a long line of MB owners and have come to expect quality and performance, I got them both here. Its not just pretty to look at, it does its fair share of hauling and stopping and starting in style. I compared it to the Volvo XC90 and just couldnt handle the Jeep like feel of the Volvo. This feels like a luxury car that can also handle lots of people. We love it.

Terrific Vehicle - 2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class
By Jeff - January 9 - 10:33 pmThis vehicle is better than advertised. Its ride is very smooth with power when its needed. It handles well and has a tighter turning radius than expected. For the size of vehicle, the MPG is pretty good. Seats are very comfortable, especially the 2nd row seats -plenty of room. Our R-Class has plenty of options and it will take some time to learn, but it hasnt been too hard so far. Price was somewhat high, but not too far above some SUVs and lower than luxury SUVs. Meets our needs for a family of 5 extremely well and I highly recommend it for other families of similar size.
